    Guilty as charged, son. I rocked a leather fanny pack when you were a kid. I think it went well with my short shorts and over-the-calf athletic socks and my rockin’ Addidas or Puma low-top shoes. I may be an old man to you but back in the day I was considered a catch. Look at NBA films from 1980 and that was my jam - absent the basketball. Hahahahaha

    Great to see you again. I agree with the not caring what others think. I am to old to care. Great advice on really thinking about what you use everyday. Especially when it is an EDC bag not a get home bag. Great video you haven't lost the touch. Enjoyed seeing this and am going to have to think about what I in fact use and need daily.

It will never be as cool as my neon green one I rocked as a kid in the early ninety's lol but definitely a good option for the basics of my edc. Always love to hear your take on edc and hope you and the family are well. Great video my friend 👍

    I'm back on rotations in the hospital (4th year med std) and needed to find an alternative solution to my jacket. I need the extra pockets for bits and bobs and medical supplies (usually gauze, tape, saline flushes) but by the end of rounds my scrubs are soaked with sweat. I was looking at various tactical belt + pouch attachments because I couldnt find any fanny packs that I liked. fortunate to have come across this video. I'm already a fan of carhartt for their stretch fit scrubs which have ample pockets and storage space (and wonderful flexibility - can squat heavy to depth), but current rotation requires pocket deficient hospital scrubs. Thanks for the review, will be a great piece of gear that will fit multiple uses.

  • @MrCdawson17

    Yeah, all my EDC developed from needing something at the time and not having it. Most of what you have, is what I put in and carry too. I have two bags. A large army type one that does have EDC in, and some basic outdoor equipment, but mainly winter items, rainy day and spare clothes items. My main bag Small one shoulder bag and Fanny Pack follow mostly what this video has.

  • @GromMolotok

    I do need to rethink my EDC now that I'm working from home. I wear cargo pants, so a lot of what you have in the fanny pack goes into my pockets instead. And I carry a day pack in part because my lunch box fits into it. But unless our office ever opens again -- and our CEO is now talking like we might never go back as a day-to-day thing -- I won't really need that much. So your video is very much appreciated as food for thought. (I was never into fanny packs, not even when they were popular. I think I was in exactly the wrong demographic at the time.)

    Definitely food for thought. I'm thinking I need to get something small for EDC use like this. While a lot of that exists in my backpack I use for work, this is a very good way to organize it in a smaller, more efficient way. And I'm old enough to not care if it is called a "fanny pack". I've never worn mine in the back anyway.

    This is great! As a mid 30's Dad myself, I fully understand and am starting to feel the same. I have had my eye out for a simple "fanny" pack.. Definitely look into carrying *pepper spray.* It'll come in handy when someone (drunkard?) comes at you with fists, where you don't want to use your gun on them, of course. I've used pepper spray on an attacker, and they ran like the wind. :) There's always that intermediate form of self-defense you want quick access too, and pepper spray is perfect, especially since it's ranged! I like a 2 oz. bottle. Small enough to fit in pocket, and still have a good amount of spray to get out for multiple attackers. I just bought a cheap ($10) fanny pack on Amazon. VANBEEKEN brand. Said it's waterproof in title, then said water resistant in description, but I bought it anyway. I will like it on long bike rides. It can be thrown over the shoulder, across the back, the chest, etc. No shame! More preparation is cool! :)

    Since when there is something wrong with a fanny pack? I love the idea of fanny pack as EDC organizer that you can drop to your backpack. Honestly, if you want something light, whats the other choice? SLING BAG? The bag that you can't even run with? Fanny pack is the best middle ground.

    Hey Sean, man please don't take this the wrong way, but a fanny pack is very Dad. Not a bad thing, but it is a Dad accessory. I always laugh at the word 'fanny', it means different things in different parts of the world. Where I am from it has a very different meaning. Cracks me up. Nice set up. Always good to see stuff from yourself. Take care brother.

    I’m rocking the Manny pack again too..I don’t give a fuck..I’m 38..great place to keep your meds if you are prescribed and vitamins.., have em at your hip in a pill container..better to get a good one and store your wallet in there while your are sitting ,have it leaning to the side holster style as opposed to sitting on a George Castanza Wallet fucking your back up unnecessarily over time..call it a man purse 🤷‍♂️ don’t care..convenient , worked great in the 90’s when I was a kid , picking it back up for 2022 here on out blast from the past Simon Phoenix .. I got a cool blue Carhartt one..most of the time it’s not even visible anyhow as the shirt covers most of it .. also store a few pens in there..(Try to avoid having to use communal pens at places you have to sign , especially A.C ..can’t even really notice it unless I packed it full..easier to leave your house and more efficient just grabbing the fanny

    Not sure Id consider this an "EDC" bag. For me personally I call this kind of bag a "day bag". Nothing wrong with having a day bag like this thats for sure. I just see these items as being in a different category than "EDC" bag items.

  • @GearedTowardGear1

    @GearedTowardGear1

    Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! That’s what’s interesting about the EDC game, everyone has their own definition and application. Some “EDC” bags that I see are full blown bugout/survival kits. For me this stuff that I truly carry everyday. I have another kit in my vehicle for example that has food, water purification, radio, multitool, etc etc but I don’t every carry it anywhere. I view it more as an emergency kit. Other people may carry those same items in their “day bag” as you call it, which is perfectly fine - it’s just a different philosophy depending on the person. I guess I probably use the term “EDC” more literally than others might.
