I’ve been waiting a month and a half for the Maxpedition Octa to come in stock and then I get a notice from Vanquest about the Dendrite. Maybe I should just go with the Dendrite since Maxpedition seems in no hurry to fill my order though I’m not sure how the bags compare size wise. Good review by the way.

Nice review, I have the gray large dendrite, and I agree it's perfect. This is my first non-maxpedition bag, and I am very impressed with Vanquest quality. I actually went from a Maxpedition Remora, and I really like the fact that I don't need mini organizer pouches in the Dendrite, the internal organization itself is excellent.

Surely, you mean a shoulder sling :-) I have both the large and small versions: charcoal/large and blue/small. I use the large one on my walks. My Sig P238 fits in the Vanquest pistol holder fine. I carry a 12 ounce bottle of water (small plastic Coke bottle filled with water), as well. I also carry several other items, in the bag. I carry mine, as a sling bag, with the bag on the right side of my lower back. I'm 6'1 and 220 lbs. I have 2 of the Manhattan Portage pouches, as well.

Does the multi cam material seem stronger? If you had to choose just one color which would it be? Would it fit a water bottle?

Hey man! Yeah the mukticam is a different material (cordura) and is definitely thicker and stronger overall - it’s also naturally abrasion & water resistant. If I had to choose one it would probably be the grey one, based solely on my preference for the grey color. It would fit a water bottle, something like a 16oz bottle but it would take up a good deal of the space inside the main compartment.

I thought the large one may be a bit large to hang on my waist. It will be a supplement to a small sling pack. Maybe the Maxpedition tt12 or the Carbide 8

Definitely the Dendrite - it’s got more space but still isn’t huge & I like the amount of internal organization it provides.

Ok ok…. This is a fashionista bag?!? I run 6 days a week with a goodwill ($4) Fanny pack and use it hard and it’s lasted over two years with no issues. $60 is outrageous for a Fanny pack. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
