I don't know another group where people are so often biased as in the gun community. I know it probably often relates to older gentlemen but an open mind is a powerful thing! Any modification that gives you confidence to better identify and engage a threat is definitely a huge plus!

The thing about the WML portion of this video that I really appreciate is you showing using an off-hand flashlight first before transitioning to the handgun's WML. My ex's dad is an attorney in Dallas, Tx and he's pro-2A and I picked a part his brain a lot on everything 2A to the point that if I were coming around he knew we were going to talk about it at some point especially when I was getting my LTC. What he explained to me was that places which the public are allowed to freely go back and forth, such as a sidewalk, park, or convenience store and the gist of the conversation was basically that even though you may have a WML on your handgun that should not be your only light source because if it were and you mentioned utilizing your WML to identify a threat then the prosecution could argue that you were brandishing the firearm and pointing it before you even identified the person as a threat making you appear as the initial aggressor, however, if you are using an off-hand light first and then transition to the WML the same way you showed in the video then that would be a lot easier to defend and articulate. Threat identification should come before employing a deadly force instrument, if that makes sense, so the WML isn't necessarily threat ID, it's more of a means to maintain clear view of the threat and a 2 handed positive grip of your firearm and see when the threat is no longer a threat, such as if you were to fire at a gunman, you shoot to stop the threat and using the WML you'd be able to see if they were still in possession of the firearm or if they put it down and are surrendering, if that makes sense.

  • @paulmarshall9189

    @paulmarshall9189

    2 жыл бұрын

Some states' definition of deadly force includes the act of pointing a gun at someone. So strictly speaking, you'd already be using deadly force just bringing the WML into play for identification purposes in that case. WML's are great tools, but do have some limitations.

Great video! I've been contemplating a trigger job for my EDC Glock, but have been hesitant to do so. I would point out that legal precedent works much differently than "sample size." 1 conviction because of a trigger job would be significant... If you can find one. I also think good legal counsel could present a good case for having a more accurate firearm due to a better trigger. I'm still not sure if I'll put a better trigger in my EDC.

I think a lot comes back to articulation on the "why" of modifications. I have aging eyes, broke my hands on duty several times and now have arthritis , etc etc. So my RMR, light, stippling and Apex trigger are for a measurable reason that can be explained in court, even to a layperson on a jury. If you can't explain why other than the cool factor then save your coin and spend it on training or ammo.Wait? What? I completely agree again? Dammit!

As controversial as it can be, you're "asterisk, not a lawyer" comments are pretty spot on. A prosecutor will try and get a conviction however they can, I've read about cases where if a shooter used ball ammo it was "military grade" and if they used hollowpoint is was "designed to cause more damage" in a sort of "damned if you do" kind of situation. A lot of stuff like this doesn't hold up to scrutiny but it's still something they'll try and use against you. As you said, the best thing is to be educated about your choice and be able to provide a concise and reasonable rational to defend that choice.

I took a scale and looked at what my finger "resting" on the trigger might be, I found it to be about 2 pounds of force. So that tells Me I should have at least a four pound trigger. I read a couple articles on how officers have a bad tendency to put their finger on the trigger when their gun is drawn and not realized it. Personal preference i like to holster my weapon while moving because I cant hit anything moving anyway and when i run, i know i have a tendency to overly tense my hands when running so i might as well run faster and redraw my side arm.

Also everyone watching this video you might want to think about carrying insurance. I use Texas law Shield I'm signed up with their US law Shield so I'm covered in all states. If I have to use my concealed firearm to defend myself or any firearm for that matter or weapon to defend myself legally they'll represent me with up to a million dollars of coverage and you're going to need every dollar of that. They'll also cover you on the Civil side as well cuz you can always expect a civil suit afterwards even if you shoot somebody breaking into your house. These are specialized gun lawyers that represent you 24 hours a day you have a 24 hour contact number. If you're going to carry a firearm in these days of in these times I definitely recommend that you look into getting some insurance to cover you.

i have it as well, i will keep using it, however, there are unresolved, or at least i have not found a conclusive answer in my searches that they are not as responsible as their sales speech claims they are. too many articles, and questions about when/if they will cover you. and whether or not how they operate is legal. again i have the insurance and will keep it. its better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it, and something is better than nothing.

The left sometimes goes after these groups as insurance companies that legalized executions. This is the left anti-gun strategy on dealing with these insurance companies so you kind of got a weed through the BS from the left and make your own clear decision. If you ever have a question on how the system works or how the coverage is implicated you can call your 24-hour hotline emergency gun attorney and he can answer any of the questions you may have on how they respond and basically if they respond type of questions because they are paid by US law shield and or Texas law shield and they are at your convenience for questions or anything you may need. I would try talking to them to get more information.

My only grip with all things in this video haha is branding slides. If you buy a slide and it has a logo cool. I wanted to trick out my CZ and I see many places that add their logo as part of the modification. To me that's a hard pass esp on some of the aftermarket work their logo is gaudy. Obviously some people don't care because the business is out there. All that said one day maybe I'll break down and get it but as of right now it's for me. Stipple job and putting a red dot sure but the modded heavy modded slide option isn't for me. Long winded thoughts. I loved this video because of the real stats out there.

I always carry a clean barrel. Imagine you're driving through an area, stop at a mini-mart for gas, and don't even go inside, then resume your trip from there. Immediately after you leave, mini-mart gets robbed and clerk is shot. Within 30 seconds of shooting, bystander calls 911, screams about shooting, is confused, remembers your vehicle, and tells police bad guy is driving a vehicle matching description of yours. While you're stuck at red lights and then waiting for a train to finish crossing the road (ding ding ding ding ding), it rains police on you, out of the vehicle, face down on pavement you go. But YOU have a clean barrel. Never fired a shot. That one fact could determine whether your lawyer can get you released in 2 days, rather than 2 months. I try to never leave my finger prints on ammo or shell casings. Imagine someone breaks into your home or vehicle, steals handgun and loaded magazines. Thief drives 1,000 miles away, keeps your handgun and ammo in magazine. Thief robs a mini-mart, shoots the clerk, leaves shell casing(s) on the floor, goes away. You don't want your prints on those casings. Reason for light trigger: "Safety. My hands aren't as strong as other people. Plus, I have a touch of arthritis. If I have a stronger trigger, it makes it harder for me to keep on aim. Great video.

First in foremost. The wife and I are members of CCW Safe. So they are pro firearm, of course. So if we are involved in a self defense situation. We are covered criminally, and civilly. Now my wife's firearms are all stock. Mine is a 1911 three pound flat face trigger. Now, according to the CCW Safe representative (who is a retired ATF Agent) it's is very rare to be prosecuted solely based on modifications to your firearm. So I am quite comfortable with my three pound trigger.

Will you please do a video on a "bugout rifle" or a "jack of all trades rifle." After all most of the time you can only carry one rifle. Keep up the great work!

I mean... whats your environment like? Whats the intended most likely use? Clearing houses? Ranged engagements? Hunting? Combat distances (0-400) or precision distances (400+)? All of these affect that. Your most versatile is probably a 16" or 14.7" pinned 5.56 running 77gr Sierra OTM.

I used incog and waiting for my trex side car and here is my experience. The incog's mag caddy stick out in front of you, exposed barrel design bother me when I reholster a hot gun. Trex arm seem to be easier to conceal with the flat design, the claw that push the gun into you. I will try to use the Incog clip on the Trex arm and see how it work.

Ryan Tinsley I don't see a point of doing all kinds of add on's or upgrades when I can shootout accurately the way it is. Barrels ,triggers, aftermarket sights for me is not necessary. I ran stock firearms in combat had no issues, I use stock firearms in executive protection, qualifying, training etc. it works for me.my opinion accessories are just a at for companies to make money and not needed

For edc imo upgrade based off of durability, reliability, and consistency. You can easily articulate upgrades based off of these topics. Like he said having a backplate that says your F’d or smile and wait for flash(actually funny) then you are asking for trouble when trying to defend yourself in the court of law. Also please no skulls
