He is the man of our generation.

This may be the single funniest comment section I have ever seen. I grew up listening to the Beatles, Zeppelin, Queen, and Pink Floyd, but all of you need to understand that there are other styles of music out there that are also good, and bashing a man who is trying his absolute best, and doing a great job, isn't ok. Ed is the one of the best performers of his generation, and hate to tell you, he's got the approval of the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Elton John, not to mention many more amazing artists, highly doubt he needs yours. Not trying to be rude, but everyone being so negative in this comment section is part of the reason music is dying, and you need to stop being so toxic.

MIGSanity since you know so much , you’ll also know that according to Paul this song was an absolute mess when John was writing it so Paul told John to leave him alone with it for a while and Paul was the one who wrote most of this song although it’s seen as a Lennon song 😁

@@Mitchell4691 since you know so much, you should know that nobody really knows who wrote the majority of the song, or anything like that because it has always had conflicting stories. One of the only things known is that George Martin wrote and played the piano part, and that John and Paul contributed but nobody is truly sure how much other than the entire idea came from John himself. Thus making it a John song.

I was there when the Beatles did this one (I'm sort of old, yea), and I've always loved their disc. But, for some reason, I'm really digging Ed's version, as he puts a twist on it, and brings something out of the song that snaps it up to attention. I love it!

I’m so jealous ngl. The Beatles are just the best. I’m 14 my mum died two years ago and they were the one thing that helped me through it. True legends. Brian Epstein said “children of the 21st century will be listening to The Beatles” and he was not wrong.

He first dropped two hits of Acid which inspired him and he read Lewis Carroll's "The Walrus and the Carpenter", for more inspiration. Happiness is a warm gun, is the greatest masterpiece in the Beatles catalogue, in terms of intricacy and probably oany song, in popular music, for that matter, by anyone. The amount of nuance and similes blending into each other and morphing meaning and musical changes and switch ups, different times throughout the song are incredible..firstly, talking about how morbidly satisfying, It feels to have shot a gun, moments after feeling the recoil and warmth in your hand,, then morphiing that into the feeling of passion following the intensity of having a Desirable and independent minded (Mother Teresa, Reference) woman crave sex from you a lot, with the gun being phallic in the 2nd verse… and so on and so on
