The liver is on the right side of the body. I know for a fact, because I still have a clip behind the liver. When my gallbladder was removed. Ed was stabbed on the left side.

But yeah, he could have at least had a look about to make sure nothing bad happened. Stede could have very much ended up dead, ad he'd have been going on thinking the worst of him.

The way Ed turns to protect Stede in the 'put the blindfold back on' scene might be my favourite moment in the entire show. He doesn't even realize that he's doing it, it's just a natural instinct. I am living for the pace of this romance! Even the kiss is not rushed, they're not trying to get each other's clothes off, but so in the moment
