Missed you guys. I kept checking thinking that I somehow cut myself off! LOL I agree with you about the genuine kindness of the Ecuadorian people. On my first trip to Ecuador, seven years ago, I stayed in a small Air BnB in Cuenca with a lovely family who became what I now consider to be some of my best friends. It has been 4 more years since we have been together, but are still in contact often. It is their kindness and loving attitudes and those of other Ecuadorians that have also become friends since then, that made me decide to make Ecuador my home. Lovely, lovely people...

Good to hear all youz are well. I am about to take a flight south after a couple of weeks. Yes, the shock isn't Ecuador, its leaving Ecuador and returning to the States after a while. I am explaining to my daughter and her BF about why I can''t wait to get back. People are the reason....no wonder its hard to explain....the only way a person can know what youz and I talk about re Ecuador is to visit. And be honest with yourself. Yes Jesse, you nail it again...people up here are beat upon...they're reacting as lab animals would to the same stresses. I am not a lab animal...actually I'm a mule for a couple of days. Hasta luego visinos😊 ciao

Nothing wrong with "gringo" - American is not a nationality ! There is no country named America. Soy Estado Unidense. Great job again gentlemen, your videos are compelling because the sincerity and enthusiasm comes thru. Yes, life in Vilcabomba is fun.

In Ecuador we call gringos mainly the whites who speak English, they can be from Europe or the USA, Canada, Australia, in Brazil since they speak Portuguese, they call gringos any foreigner no matter if they are Argentinian or Ecuador or Peru, every foreigner is called gringo, it doesn't matter what language they speak, in Ecuador only whites who speak English are called gringos, Obviously, calling a gringo is meant with kindness, not mockery 😅

It's interesting to hear your comments about the poor condition of the roads in Ecuador. I was there about 6 months ago and we traveled from Quito to Cotacachi and many of the towns between. After that trip, I am constantly telling people how superior the roads in Ecuador are compared to the Chicago area.

You guys are awesome. It was nice to see you after a 2 week break. I would love for you guys to do a rental tier verses new construction. My wife and retired young and have lived in Cuenca for almost 4 years. We are looking at moving but curious whether it is possible to acquire land and new construction for about 100k. We only need 1000 square foot. Lastly, we visited about a month ago and I wanted to join you guys in basketball. When, where and what time do you play. Thanks and keep the content coming.

Hello , Peru supports Ecuador in his fight against crminals and against foreign intervention from Mexico. A small group of guns trafficker was caught and now at jail. They were trafficking guns into Ecuador. Even though Noboa did not respect the soveignity of Mexico´s embassy, the continous direct intromission of Lopez Obrador into Ecuador's political internal affairs is also incorrect. Peru is also building a 500kv powerline to supply electricity in case of power outages. Greeting from Lima.

I had a 2nd home in Tahoe for 15 years and lived there full time for five while my daughter went to High School. So, I know it well. It's the most insular place I ever lived because "locals" didn't associate with tourists, or the very wealthy (think $30 million homes on the lake). Tahoe is beautiful, but I'd never live there again because the social atmosphere is the worst, and I've lived in many hot spots -- London, LA, San Francisco. Beauty can be skin deep, and it sounds like there is depth to the beauty of Ecuador.

Thanks for asking. Portland Oregon. Technically, I live on the Columbia river in a floating home. Not a house boat. It's a regular 5 bedroom 3 bath home, except it floats. Perhaps one day the answer will be Vilcabamba.
