    Smithsonian, Thank you for your brilliant insight re: hard surfaces and stream health. Managing our riparian zones is so vital to our general wellbeing. It seems like we will have to find intermediate methods of managing runoff from towns and cities. There is much in the way of pollution from roadways, Dust from brake shoes, oil and rubber or plastics from tire wear, and general fallout from exhaust. I have been considering special lakes made especially for pre-processing flood water prior to possible sequestration in the aquafers.
