They discuss his latest book entitled, Disruption: The Global Economic Shocks of the 1970s and the End of the Cold War. Professor De Groot outlines the global economic instability and cyclical shocks of the 1970s, and ties a direct line between the economic response to those shocks by the United States and the Soviet Union and how these responses led to the end of the Cold War.
