ECOFLOW BLADE “WATCH BEFORE YOU BUY!”

Ғылым және технология

What do you think of the new BLADE from ECOFLOW? The more I used it the better it got! This definitely has some good uses but unfortunately i wont be able to use it for my location. Due to my lawn and hot temps it just wont work. But the edge control features and mapping and full Automation is definitely slick and no other robot has this..!! Also if your lawn is a little shorter like 2.5 inches i think this will be a more ideal lenght.

It's way too expensive for a robomower this weak. There are now better robo-mowers available that provide more features, better batteries and more powerful electric motors (also 4 wheel drives)... and also are controlled via RTK/GPS... for the same price! This unit should cost under $1000 to be competitive.

@@covertpuppytwo3857 This mower has a camera, lidar and radar. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I can't think of another robot lawnmower that has that combination. The Omni directional wheels also seem to do as good job making sure it doesn't slip nor destroy the grass. I have the Worx Landroid L. There are forums of people having to modify the wheels so that they don't slip. This is the only lawnmower that doesn't use a boundary wire. I'm not sure if you realize how big of a deal that is. In the four years I've had my Landroid, there hasn't been one in which it didn't rip the wire out somewhere, or rip it out and also cut it, forcing me to fix it, an incredibly annoying process. Suffice it to say, Ecoflow figured out something literally no other company has been able to. It also has a sweeper, something I've never seen in a robot mower. For me, the only reason I wouldn't get it is because it only cuts up to 3", and I like to keep my grass at 4", since it's turf type tall fescue. I also suspect it won't do well on slopes. I'll wait for real reviews to come out before spending $3k on it.

@@shanew7361 No lawn mower is going to handle dog crap! You need to go out and clean your lanw. As someone who currently has a robot lawn mower (the worx landroid L), I'd be interested in: 1. can it handle the slopes in my yard? 15 degrees doesn't seem like much. You basically need a flat lawn 2. how does it handle bumps and divots in the ground? Unless you're one of those lawn perfectionists, who levels out their lawn every year, you're going to have dents and bumps. 3. How robust is it to save itself when it gets stuck somewhere? When it beaches itself on top of a root. Or on top of a kid's toy that was flat enough that it didn't realize it was there, but tall enough to beach it. Are you going to have to come out every 15 minutes to get it unstuck? I also can't understand why all of these robot mowers only cut to 3". I grow turf type tall fescue, which likes to stay at 4". I *guess* I could cut it at 3 inches, but as was mentioned in this video, when we get our heatwaves, you really want the grass as tall as possible so that it doesn't brown out.

@@johnnysweekends It's 2AM and the robot is is about 65% complete cutting my 13,000 sq-ft yard. I started it about 9PM and it had to go to the charger once. It's very quiet and doesn't belch gas fumes. I would assume cutting in the cooler night air is easier on the grass. This is the first time that I've had all of the lawn other than one separate section mapped. Initially I had a small section mapped out...then I added more...then I started mapping another...and I lost the map. After the firmware yesterday (the changelog implied they had improved mapping) I just mapped it all out with all of the restricted areas. BTW, I do have some rough sections and dips, the robot does have some issues with these areas but seems to be very good at figuring how to get out of these snafus. Online chat support was useless when my App was indicating a 0402 error, but I did get through that by clearing the data and starting over. I'd try using the Apps built-in support feature next time, I'm assuming since the robot is internet connected that they may be able to look at debug info when troubleshooting.

I am actually currently looking for a new robot lawnmower, that will be my first one. I am on a fence between EcoFlow, Worx Landroid Vision and Segway Navimow, which all should have all the advanced sensors same as EcoFlow. My lawn doesn't have any slope, but they didn't do a good job making it totally flat, so there are a few shallow pits and bumps, also the grass is not as perfect as yours. With the EcoFlow I am a bit worried about grass clippings getting into the front wheel spinny rings and getting them stuck. When the grass dries before getting it out I can imagine it would be really tough to get it out. I wish I could just borrow one for couple of days to test it, it is a rather pricey thing to buy and then realize it doesn't work on my lawn.

I placed an order for two Rivers and wished I cancelled both (I sent one back unopened). Their support takes forever to get back to you. They will answer 1/3rd of what you ask them. You can't call them; inducing a whole lot of unnecessary back-and-forth. I'll give them credit for including solar panels on the catcher, but I don't get why it needs a to make three passes? Every other mower that's ever existed has been able to collect the clippings in one go.

This looks awesome, but it probably won't work for me 1. (the deal breaker), it doesn't cut any higher than 3". I have turf type tall fescue, which likes being at 4". If I go through a week and a half of 95F days, I'd want my grass as tall as possible. So many robot lawn mowers make the mistake of only going to 2.5" - 3". They're basically saying, "Sorry, this won't cut TTTF." 2. How much of a slope can it handle? I'm reading and it says it can handle 27 degree slopes. My Worx Landroid L can handle 35 degree slopes and still struggles at times. But these wheels seem more capable than my Worx, which are very good at chewing up my lawn! I've seen people who got their TTTF DENSE, fertilized the heck out of it, then experimented with cutting it at 3" or less in the heat of summer and had no issues. I'd really just rather keep mine at 4" and for that reason, I'm out!

My guess is the engineers told them it only does 15 degrees, but they realized that's incredibly low, so they're lying and saying 27 degrees in order to get people to buy it. When it doesn't handle greater slopes (i.e. skids, slips), well, you've already bought it, haven't you? 😂 I have a Worx Landroid L, which claims it can handle 35 degree slopes. It can't! At least once an hour, it'll "get stuck" trying to navigate a slope. I come out, move it someplace else and it keeps cutting. My guess it this will do the same thing.

For his tiny yard, you honestly don't even need a self propelled walk behind mower. One of those $75 push reel mowers would do just fine! However, if you have an acre of land like I do (1/2 of which I have grass on and the other half woody), a robot lawn mower would be a great option. I have the Worx Landroid L. It's far from perfect, but it's nice always having a perfectly cut lawn. I certainly wouldn't call it a toy. The question is, how robust is it? Does it handle: * divots/bumps/not perfect flat, leveled land? * roots sticking out? Like will it beach itself on a root or be smart enough to not even try to roll over it? Ultimately, you want to set the thing, come out every day and see a mowed lawn. If you have 3/4 of an acre or less and it can do that without much intervention from you (other than to change the blades), then I'd call this a winner.
