The traditional threaded drain plug and drain pan have eluded change and have burdened the industry - until now. The game has changed. The Eco-Plug motor oil drain plug with its innovative threadless magnetic technology is engineered to last a lifetime.
Since the inception of Henry Ford's assembly line, the celebrated evolution of the auto has been relentless. In contrast, the process of changing motor oil involving a drain plug and pan has remained the same as it was over a century ago.

Stop Threading Drain Plugs That Damage Oil Pan Threads & Leak Oil. Go Threadless, Go Magnetic, Go Ecoplug
A big supermarket chain automotive center stripped out the bolt in My Pan on my Ford Explorer. The next time I went in they refuse to touch it saying the boat was stripped. I tried to explain to them that they're the only ones that had change the oil and they refused service. So I went back to my house and change my oil again myself and the plug seems to hold. The next time I went to do it myself I installed the plug again and this time I stripped it out completely. Looking for a fix I found this Eco plug. Prime shipping it got here quick and I said off to do the fix. The kit comes with a very tiny amount of an epoxy that you need together with your fingers and spread on the bolt before installation. Before I started to need the epoxy I could feel that it was fairly hard. I needed the epoxy and could feel hard lumps in it. When I tried to put it on the thread of the boat it would not end here. Having the exact same epoxy in my shop I cut off a bigger piece needed it and put it on the threads and installed the bolt. After an hour I put in the oil and there was a fairly good drip from the bolt. So I drained the oil back into its container took out the bolt cleaned it clean everything once again and installed it once again with JB quick 5-minute epoxy. I would recommend that the Eco plug company not even send the epoxy with a plug and just recommend using J-B Weld to install their plug. It seems to be working fine I run the truck and I keep cardboard under it to see if there's any leaks and there is no drips so far. Four stars for having to deal with the epoxy situation and take out clean and reinstall their plug. I would recommend the plug just use J-B Weld for your installation.

Used the magnetic eco plug on my 2008 Toyota Camry since it has a steel drain pan and not an aluminum one. The oil pan size for my Camry is 14mm so the 10-15 mm ecoplug is the one that I bought for my Camry. I Cleaned the inside threads of the oil pan with a 1/2 in round wire brush to clean any debris on the threads. I simply pushed in the eco plug after I cleaned it and it worked. Haven’t had any problems. Works as advertised but you need to clean the threads in your oil pan if not with a wire brush you will need to make sure the threads are clean of any debris. Of course there will be some oil still in the pan while you clean it. I installed Friday morning and it is Sunday now with no leaks. And yes I have been driving my car all weekend and have no drips. I bought it a Autozone for $10.00 and some change. Saved me $$$$$

Thanks your Review sold Ego Plug to me I'm ordering one online now. I wasn't keen using that grey putty that came with early Eco Plugs that green tread tap looks promising. Grey Putty looked like trouble with fast time for it to go off if you stuff up under the car and forget grab wrench then too late grey putty gone off

I just installed this today on my 2015 Civic. I just hope the pen does not vibrate loose when driving around on the roads. I hope the magnetic system is very strong.

@@simpsonmc if you do that, how do you drain the oil?

@@tientrinh943 I just add a thin bead on the plug around the post then press it into the hole I wait a day before filling the oil. When it comes time for me to change the oil, I just pull the plug out and peel the gasket off. It comes off really easily. I’ve done this three times so far and it’s worked perfectly every time. You do have to give it extra time to drain however. The whole is pretty small.
