You can't blame it on static pressure, you can't blame it on humidity getting into the motor..... I love it brother! Those are my sentiments exactly.

My HVAC guy came Fri. because my heat pump wasn't working. Bad news, system totally dry of coolant R-22, and compressor had dumped some oil. It's a 3.5 ton unit 13 yrs. old. He recommended new system. I'm not too thrilled but I guess it has to be done. We've got emergency heat (split system) and gas log fireplace (LP) I want to make sure I have a good system before summer heat sets in.

Few months ago I yanked out an indoor motor on an air handler!!! Same type … ECM!?!?! I installed a regular PSC motor! And put a relay in to work with the fan control board! I asked (the supply house) the difference in ECM vs PSC…. He said lower locked rotor amperage! So I asked what’s the difference if you run a PSC motor on continuous fan (run load amps are about the same!!!)🤔🤷🏽 So I’d really like to see the difference in a power bill when both are ran nonstop! I personally jus think it’s another high dollar addiction to what could be a more standard reliable operating system! With a satisfied customer & a service tech going where he’s really needed! “Keep it simple!” QUIT THINNING EVAPORATOR COILS FOR MORE EFFICIENCY TOO!!! More refrig leaks on da way in da process 🙅🏼🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏽‍♀️

I see what you're saying about the ECM but you can't run an indoor fan constantly. During cooling season you'll reintroduce the moisture on the indoor coil back into the living space and there will be an issue. It'll also feel like they're living in a cave, cold and wet. The blower must turn off after a call for cooling unless there's auxiliary dehumidification.

Right now we're seeing a wave ecm fan motors fail on 16 seers rheems all within 5yrs old. It's pretty upsetting, we've already had 8 warranties in the last 3 months. They're claiming is water related, but it's not just rheem, it's across the board. Also had our first compressor fail on a unit less than a yr old, (the new model).

Recently bought my house. I noticed that my Rheem AC unit's outside fan will spin for 15 seconds and then shut off for 2 mins. It'll turn on again for 15 seconds and then shut off. Rinse and repeat over and over. Called a buddy of mine. He does some HVAC work. He says my unit has an ECM. He doesn't know to much about them. It appears to be similar to what's going on in this video. His buddy says that it's normal. I don't feel like it is. When it was 90 degrees here, my house was blowing hot air until night fell. Then the house started to cool down. So long story short, should the fan always be spinning when the AC is turned on? Thank you!
