I wanted to make a little vloggy style video about what I've been up to! I didn't really plan any of this out 😄 Just shot it as I was going. But I didn't want to talk to camera, I wanted to tell everything visually. It's not perfect but I'm quite happy with it. All shot on S5iix and Sirui 50mm anamorphic. Lastly, I didn't know my dad well (or much at all really) but wanted to tell the story of the strange feeling of putting someone's entire life into storage. Anyway, enjoy.

This was a really atmospheric video. The echos left by your Dad are almost "sealed" by your work in clearing out his life's belongings. By filming it I feel sure that you will always be able to get back some of these "echos" just by watching the video all over again. Lovely work. You're Dad wasn't the only artist in the family.

That was excellent Alex. I remember when my Dad passed away how difficult and emotional it was to empty the house and sort everything out. You captured it well. Very moving to anyone who has experienced the loss of their parents and had to do the same.

So much reminded of my Dad who was an artist. So many paintings left. Beautifully shot, man, that lense and the light, the colors… fantastic job. Very moody, unbelievable location. Love your tutorials and learned a ton but I appreciate your work as an artist. Respects.

In Germany we have the word "Bildgewaltig", "The power of pictures" so to say. I was looking on your chanel for a tutorial, then looking around and stopping for Anamorphic Sirui. But what I saw was so much more than I was expecting. And thanks God no typical blue flares and other humbig. Just pure craftmanship with a clear mind, showing the beauty that will come to people who can see, and finally your last goodbye to your father. And a very gentle music to lift it a little... well done!

A big plus is that it was a pleasure to notice that nowadays someone shoots or edits a video so that the camera doesn't shake like adhc patients try to make it a trend. Although few people really like it, you have to keep up with the trend.

I didn't really know my dad either. I hadn't seen him since I was 12, and I think those 4 days were the most time I ever spent with him that I can remember. Even at those times he was angry and hard to deal with. It's sad, but sometimes not always an awful thing to not be around some family.

No one needs to qualify to experience the phenomenon of grief. With all its facets, it is less, a state of mind, and more of a journey. A release of tangible expectations of something, to make room in our hearts, for something we might miss in our lives. Art is a beautiful and poignant expression, of the path for grief to find it’s leave, eventually, and beautifully, making room for the part of someone, to be recognized, and come to life in you… Close or not, you are, your fathers son. You may not have been close then, but I believe you are so close now, that we are meeting him, through you. Beautifully done Mr. Alex Tech Senior, and Jr. 🫂❤ Thank you for sharing 🙏

But, something else about your video that I should mention. I came to your Davinci Resolve instructional videos to help me learn how to work with DR--this video shows me what I can do with it. Thanks for sharing, very well done, impressive.
