Echo CS-400 carb issue and cure. Very funny so watch it all!

Chainsaw needs carb kit. Owner wont approve it. Now its gonna cost him when he brings it back. Funny. Post me a comment if you've ever seen one this bad. Out!

    I couldn’t start mine either. Did all the checks on the spark plug, filters, gas, etc. As a last resort i changed out the carb with an $18 Amazon kit and it started on the first pull. Now we’ll see how long that carb lasts. The first one only went two years.

    Actually SoCal, if you got 2 years out of your saw and never had to replace the metering diaphragm you did really well for yourself. Ethanol fuel makes them hard and they get stuck in the up or down position. Down is what makes the crankcase flood with fuel and up makes it not run well or not at all. You did well and got out of it pretty inexpensively. Good job and your first beer is on me. 🍺

    @@ZombieDaveAZ Really? Thanks for that knowledge. It is actually my first chainsaw and I used it quite a bit last winter. It sits mostly idle in the warm Georgia summer. We’re only two years homesteading so we have a learning curve we’re going through. I also have a 72cc Farmmac I use for making my own boards on a homemade chainsaw mill. I really love working with our own fallen trees and turning them into useful items. The feedback was much appreciated. Thank you again.

    How about same saw. Cutting with it perfectly. Ran out gas. Filled it up, now wont start. I noticed when pushing on primer bulb it would collaspe and excessively slow would fill back up. Like 6 seconds. I noticed air cleaner was lose. Can i blow air through primer line, or will this damage carb

    I have one of these saws and at first it got to bogging and stalling out and running lean. I had to constantly keep the trigger moving to keep it running. I quit using it and used the Huskvarna. So after sitting a while it will not even start today. The plug is firing and it does have good compression so it about has to be a stopped up carb.

    I don't blame you. I rebuilt automatic transmissions for a living, actually had my own shop for 40 years until I retired 6 years ago. Got so bad, you know these trans. are crap anymore and people would come in with a 4 wheel drive truck with 100,000 miles on it and would want you to pull it out and tear it down and just fix what is broken, not what is about to break. Then they would want to take off with it and then when something happens to it they say so and so just fixed 3 weeks ago. To top that off they would want a warranty on it. Not me, I had a great business that would let me build it right the first time. That guy was just trying to play you for sure.

    I would NOT, put it back together, till u show him. Make sure he agrees you need to put carb kit in and totally drain crankcase. It's going to need to be run after work is done just to get all that fuel out. But while it's all open bring piston to top and empty crankcase of all that, I'm assuming, fuel. Then maybe allow to evaporate any remaining fuel. Not positive, but that should clear most of flooded systems. I'm sure any expert watching may agree.. But don't reassemble and let him try wastefully. That's just being mean.

    At the motorcycle shop where I work we use duplicate "carbonless" copy work orders for everything. We write down compression readings (EVERY engine gets checked before going further because ya can't tune away a fried top end) and when a customer declines a repair we note "customer declined xxxx". My boss keeps his copies for self-defense and future reference because customers are often dishonest, retarded, or both. It's also handy for maintenance history.

  • @ZombieDaveAZ

    @ZombieDaveAZ

    6 жыл бұрын

    I give my customers their copy and dated. Any notations are made on the back of "their" work order. It is "their" responsibility to show me the work order for any warranty work. If they dont have it,its treated like a new intake and the meter starts running. If a customer says it runs great it just needs a pull starter, it is noted on the intake as a non-runner. Pull starter can be installed,charged and returned with the balance due even if it does not run. I hate those kind of guys. I sometimes tell customers to find a new mechanic. Thanks for commenting. Keep it up.👍

    Would you would rather 1) "teach this guy a lesson" he won't even understand. or 2) Grow your business with good service, and communication? He will pay you to fix his saw only to have it returned in non working condition. He will feel ripped off, and tell your potential future customers about his bad experience. I understand your point of view. But the ONLY reason I understand it is because you showed me. If you showed him, instead of all of KZread, he would understand. You communicated very clearly with everyone in the world with internet access instead of the 1 person who you should have. I do understand your frustration, I work with the public too. Instead you make a video showing how the customer flooded the carburetor and making fun of him because he doesn't speak English well. It's literally your job to fix whatever is wrong with something.
