Fun fact; ‘ebay’ the company was named after echo bay as the founder spent a lot of time there with his family in its hay day 🤘🤘 (still has a massive home/compound in the Vegas area)

Interesting fact. I didn't know that. Thanks !
Hey ,Hey, It's RVerTV Russ, Thanks for letting us ride along to Echo Bay today. Your To Cool For SCHOOL. 👍
Hey Russ!!! "KEEP LOOKING" for the "WATER"!!! Be Safe!!!
Just looked this up on Google Earth. Photo on there was from 2017. The ramp was in the water, and vehicles with boat trailers are in the parking area. Amazing the difference.
Russ, thanks for making the extra effort to document all of this. I doubt no one else has covered the situation at Lake Mead as thoroughly as you have. Safe travels.
you may not quite realize it yet but you are creating a visually stunning history of an unfolding apocalypse that few understand...the greatest climate migration imaginable is now maybe just 2 years away...millions of people will go east...sad hardly will describe this.
Very sad to see. I used to love bringing our boat out here and having breakfast in the restaurant at the hotel. In the 80's, the water level was just below the back of the hotel and it had a beautiful marina. The hotel has been closed down for many years now.
Thanks for this tour of Echo Bay. Never thought I would see this in my life time. This is an end of an era. I will never see it full again either.
I was there in '97 with my wife. Beautiful place, had lunch and walked around the property to the docks. Loved the massive houseboats. The water lines were very noticeable back then. Cheers 🇨🇦
I'm 50 lived here off n on 20 plus years. Graduated from here it's nuts seeing everything happening in such a short time. It's gutting really. What gets me the most is they are going to develop all the way to the top of Charleston all the way to state line as the lake is shrinking to desperation levels. Idk bla bla lol When I was 18 19 yrs we were catching 3 to 10 pounders off the banks. Silver black repala. Anchovies The wash would get crazy boils Jet ski cove hole 33. Those 40 plus hogs were pretty common ppl with boats. What me and a bud would do is fish for beer at the bait shop buy the doods bait hike out to our spot get all the lanterns close to water chum out some anchovies cast out with silver black rapala. Worked pretty well. Always had another line out at the bottom. Great vids appreciate the updates. Let's hope for more rain heavy snow this winter
Yes history IS what it IS. Documentation is a must so as to assist future generations of learning from experiences and mistakes. 👍🏿

Yes. Russ is doing the average "spectator" a great service.
Nice report about a sad situation for the many people affected by it! Ron PTL USA
That Colorado water basin is Doooomed !!! It'll be decades before that water returns ta normal .... Nice video reporting very informative.. Thanks (-:
Thanks! Another beautiful run of the desert landscape. I could build a vacation off these videos!. You're doing a good job narrating these also.
Thank you ...still beautiful.👍👍🤗🤣Colors, patterns and textures. Memories...sort of. Don't know why my heart gets excited seeing palm trees. Take care
As you can see by the 'bathtub' ring, 2:30 the campground below would have been under water 25 years ago. Maybe even where you're standing Russ! Lake Mead will soon be a memory, I'm afraid😢
Absolutely mind boggling how much water that lake has lost and continues to lose. 🙏 for rain 🌧 for you guys!
Again, all by design ......... Lake Meade dropping like a rock but, area lakes around Phoenix just fine
Wow, I use to water ski with my older sister and her husband. He had a brand new Sea Ray boat he kept at the dry boat docks which also had a convenience store. The hotel was a Holiday Inn. This was from 1979 to 1985. In 1983 the lake was filled all the way to the top and it was blue, clear, and cool. Such a beautiful lake then. Hopefully, we get some heavy rains for the next years to help out. My sister's husband just passed away last Christmas Eve. RIP.
Hi Russ, thank you for taking me on your journey to Echo Bay. As a child we would vacation at Lake Mead. In the middle 50's I would have never dreamed that Lake Mead would be what it is now. So sad but that is what this long drought has produced.

The drought hasn’t helped but the releasing of water for those who have payed for it down stream is a massive issue as well
Last time I was at Echo Bay lodge there was a huge catered wedding there and we could put our boat in next to the lodge.
So sad to see this but it still has its own beauty! Thanks Russ for the vlog!😀

I agree! Very stark, apocalyptic quality with not only the barren, sharp mountains and the obvious shell of a large lake, but the empty(perfectly landscaped and paved/striped) parking areas, picnic tables you could walk up to today and have lunch on. I would go there now on purpose, but probably not before - I prefer it quieter, less crowded - but yeah, cool eerie vibe, fer sure!
Wow, it's so weird to see that hotel all boarded up like that--I remember staying there back in the day and enjoying the view from my balcony. Watching your series of Lake Mead videos I keep expecting you to come across some graffiti saying ‘Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!’
Thanks for all the updates Russ! This footage is priceless.. historical records . Have a great rest of your summer!
Amazing to think you be under water going along that road. It really brings home the situation.
I see where the lake actually came up a few tenths of a foot from that rain the other day, about a year of that would help, huh? Thanks Russ!

It would take many years of heavy rain fall or snow melt to bring the lake back and I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon. What fell the other day has probably already had the equivalent or more evaporate.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Unbelievable. Be safe.
Brilliant videos ....so sad to watch the decline of the lakes ....thanks for sharing and keep up the great work 🇬🇧
Just incredible. It's so beautiful out there. It's pretty mind blowing seeing the water level drops over time with those water marks.
Echo Bay far away in time Echo Bay far away in time Echo Bay!!!.... thank you thank you very much
Nice to ride with you again Brother! Peace Love and Many Blessings from Northern Arizona!👍✌️❤️🙏🙏🙏✨️😇
Wow... Thanks for posting. I'm from Chicago. We took a drive out west back in 1984 and stood at this hotel. We had drinks at the bar and ate in the restaurant. We also rented a small boat. It's totally amazing how everything has changed. The water came up within 50' from the hotel back then. ...how sad......................................
Your entire series is a great document of this unfortunate situation. My first house boat rented on Mead was there at Echo Bay. Two weeks on the lake with a fun group. So sad to see it now but fingers crossed and the good Lord willing it might return. Thanks Russ.
Thanks Russ, I’ve been watching all the Lake Mead updates on KZread, waiting for someone to show the Echo Bay campgrounds area. I camped there for a week back in 2017… it was really low back then. I think they had just kicked all of Bundy’s cattle off the range. A whole lot has changed around that neck of the desert! I’ll bet the wild donkey’s aren’t real happy about the water situation either! Another great update, we appreciate you! 👍🏼
Thanks for taking us along Russ. Love the escape.
Enjoyed the drive around Lake Mead. It is sad that the lake is drying up. Thanks Russ!
Thanks! Great job on this "tour", best one I've seen! Really enjoyed watching. Will watch it again tonight. The best to you!🌈
Thank you for your well documented videos of the situation. I've learned more from you than the "regular news. Stay safe.
This sad to see. I was in Las Vegas in the fall of 2010 and we took a day trip to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We crossed over the Hoover Dam not long before the new elevated road was opened to the public. I remember seeing the white line on the shores of the river near the dam and was told by someone that it indicated what the water level used to be - I was shocked at how low it was - can't imagine what it's like now 12 years later.
How sad. Plenty of water when I was last there in 2002. I hear Echo Bay is how eBay got its name. Not sure if it's true but I heard thst. I miss the way it was. Thanks Russ for all you do 👍 Safe travels. Going north? I bet you are going to Sturgis! Wish I was. Have fun.
Thank You Russ for "Recording The History"
Incredible! Enjoyed it. Thanks for the ride
Thanks for taking us along on the history tour ! As you say good or bad ! Thanks for sharing Russ !!!
Safe Travels Russ thanks for sharing your trips and sad to see how our world has done to all of the Beautiful Places and keep up the great work.
Thanks for the video Russ!
This update is my favourite so far, loved the abandoned hotel
Thanks Russ you do a great job.
Its mind boggling to see the land scape. Couldn't of imagine the little hills and gullies under the water. Wow
Subscribed ... you're visiting our old stomping grounds before water level check. Echo bay may still be a nice place to camp autumn/winter. If it's still that deserted you probably wouldn't get any grief from Rangers riding dirtbikes an quads to the water.
I REALLY DO APPRECIATE your videos!!! Very educational, and as you mentioned, "historical". Thank you very much! God bless you and keep you safe!
Sad about the businesses and homes that are empty/vandalised, or losing value quickly because of the levels of the lake dropping and marinas closing. May be worse later if the lake continues to drop unchecked. Also if anyone does kayak, please be sure to notify others where you plan to be in the lake, and when you plan to be back. Very importantly, wear a certified personal floatation device. An unfortunate kayaker lost his life this past week kayaking in a thunderstorm there at Lake Mead. A very sad situation and no life preserver on him!
Like Keith says below, Thank You for getting up & close and showing, in REAL full-length footage, the reality of this tragedy. It will take a miracle thru many years to restore all of this, if it even happens...
Enjoy, happy travels! Thanks for Sharing! 👍👍✌😁👌
Thanks for the sobering trip to Echo Bay. Sad to see, but i thank you for bringing it to us.
Yes VIRGIN RIVER from ZION ( Just moved back from St. George/Hurricane, UTAH). OH WOW! ...I don't reconize it anymore. We did Mohave/Laughlin every week from So Calif. during April -Sept/October. ( I don't want to add up how much I spent but I know I have very GOOD Memories at these LAKES). Thank you very much for making these VIDS of ALL THE Marina's of MEAD! ( Valley of Fire is a taste of UTAH...Pretty though :) George Amodei
🙋Hello Russ! Still a beautiful blue. Very sad situation indeed. The lives that have been altered because of it. In hopes you enjoy your weekend. I'm ready to go North when you are.
Thanks for showing us around and stay dry, the monsoon runoff actually brought the lake up a tiny, tiny bit for the first time in a long time. Safe Travels

I believe the report was 0.75 inch increase. Seriously...(sigh). The soil is so parched...
So sad the lake is down Thanks for sharing the video The William's Paul and Janie, Ohio
Russ you should definitely check out the Lost City Museum in Overton.. it’s world class and so many artifacts that were collected from the Lake Mead area before it was flooded. We were there in March and it was well worth it!
Fantastic series Russ! Great that you took the time to document this. I guess they could get a snow making machine and turn that ramp into a ski area! 😄 Stay safe out there! 💕

Sad, growing up in the late 70s & 80s Echo was where our family went to boat, camp & fish.
That drone video really shows how green that water is. Thanks for the video. Sad to see how low it is ,but that's the reality we are living in.
Thanks for the great update
Thanks for filming this time in history, sad though it is. Going to be a lot of changes on Mother Earth in the next few years. Take care, stay safe.
Hello Russ. During my 2019 visit, I didn't recognize anything in Echo Bay. There was a nice campground near the water's edge in 1998. Everything was abandoned 20 years later. Very sad, indeed ! I can't wait to see your images of Valley of Fire ... RICHARD
I love that show Mysteries of the Abandoned. I thought of that show too when I see the hotel and the docks in the middle of the desert.
Oh so sad seeing what used to be. Russ, you are a brave guy being in the desert in July! Go north young man, go north!!!!

Yea, come up to northern minnesota. It has rained half the summer. North of Duluth
I watched this, than went back to 2019 when we was there. I compared your video to ours. Standing on the same ramp. In only 3 yrs, the water has dropped a lot. It’s not gonna last must longer.
It’s staggering too see just how much water was in there and how deep it was when full.
Back in the 80's they said this lake was unsustainable and was going to dry up but everyone laughed.
It's sad to see but thankful to see it on your videos. Sad history
Russ. Thanks again, for bringing this- thru video- to us. Again, it is a shame that all of the flooding going on in numerous areas of the country, can't come to the lake Mead lake Powell areas.
Another great video despite how sad the situation is. Stay safe. My road trip starts in a few more days out to the desert 🏜..
We camped there twice last fall and they were extending the boat ramp at that time. The campgrounds are fine and far enough off the beaten path so there are plenty of empty spots. Didn’t stay in the rv park with hookup’s it was pretty full
It's amazing the amount of money spent on the roads and parking lots. It doesn't look like it's been used at all. They put RPM's for centetlines on the road. That stuff is spendy. And for what? Sad. Thanks Russ. Very interesting.
Amazing job on that. I hope it approaches it`s low point soon. It`s terrible.
That is so sad and depressing! I really hope the lake will fill up again and all these places can thrive once more.
Thank you
Dropping nearly 5 feet a month that might become an isolated pond soon.

I’m sure people will be climbing up on the B 29 one day.
. Video but really sad to see the lake disappearing all the jobs lost anyway be safe thanks for a great video
Nice vid Russ; oh yes, brings back many, many memories of summer vacations from the 1970's thru to '90's at Echo Bay and the Lodge. Hope you don't mind but I think you missed a golden opportunity to stop at the market and see if anyone was actually holding open the store/station and see what they had to say regarding the Lodge, etc? In any event, happy travels and fingers crossed we get some higher water flows down the mighty Colorado. :)

Thanks for Sharing ❤️
70 miles from hemminway to echo, but thats to the resort. I was a maintenance tech at echo 20 years ago. I havn't been there in 15 yrs- Im amazed! Thanks for the vid! I lived in a mobile home across from the campground on the right as you were leaving. I don't know how to feel about this. I guess I am old to think I lived in a ghost town! I should have taken a bunch of pics back then!
I stayed at a campground somewhere on lake mead in 2001, but have no idea which one it was. This is so sad to see this lake dry up. Nice video thanks for sharing.
The huge marina that was aground must have been removed. Has a cafe, bait shop and gas station. Just sitting in the mud when I was there a few years ago.

Hi from South West UK Russ. Unbelievable watching these lakes disappear. Must be scary for the people in South West US.☹️
Mother Nature always takes back what’s hers!!
Hey Russ, I remember this marina as kid in the 60s 70s and the blooming shrubs and palms. Thanks

I recently walked the bridge looking at Hoover Dam. A shocker for sure.
Thanks!!!😎
Amazing to see that green patch where water recently was! Here's an idea, build a bunch of new stuff down at the current water level and the lake will certainly start to fill 🙂 That would be money well spent!
Russ the old lake could do with same of Vegas monsoon rain .may bring it up an inch or two .its a shame to see it .fished on there years back 🎣👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank You for doing this Video's .I Enjoy it we are living in Las Vegas, NV and drive Bolder City and to see the Bighorn Sheep Hemenway Park .You are doing a fine Job on this .
We sold a house in Northern Arizona 2 years ago and we weren’t thinking about the water. I am so glad we did....I really appreciate your effort, Russ. The green water is most disturbing. Thank you so much. ❤️
Why in the world would they, who ever, spend that much money to get down to a dribble of water. Insane.
Very pretty photography. I screen shot and make my backgrounds on devices. Makes me feel like I have been there
great video.... awesome camera quality.!!!!!
Russ love your content! PLEASE try to get an interview with the harbor master at the open marina and hear his voice on the lake’s water level.
This reminds me of what has happened to the Dead Sea: it was once full decades ago, but has dropped significantly!
Great vid! So sad to see it in that condition. We're not leaving much for future generations. Slowly painting ourselves into a corner
The Northeast is experiencing a cooler & wetter spring/summer than usual, Kentucky & Yellowstone in flood conditions. I'd guess in 5 years Lake Meade will return to overflow conditions. In the meantime videos like this are awesome.
