Thank you for this video. It helped me finally fix my 770t. Echo replaced my entire engine but not the carb. Even after that it was still bogging and running hot. I kept telling them it was too lean and always told carb was set right. About a half turn and it runs like a hero. No more bogging and it doesn't smell like it's overheating. It smells like a 2 stroke should! And it has a noticeable amount more power. Thanks again for the information!

The current # for that tool is: Echo Walbro ECH-91159L but it can't be had cheap. AliExpress sells similar for under $2 but it's too short. If you buy one of those multi sets of drivers, the metal section needs to be at least 4" long or poss. loose your warranty & enlarge the hole to get closer to the carb. I do not know if one of those multi sets has a micro D that fits! YOU CAN MAKE ONE as I just did for .50 Ace Hardware, find the selection of tension pins, get the smallest, 5/32 x 1, not shortest; close it's gap & you have to grind it thinner BUT THIS is the only metal that is still strong enough to do the job. I put the pin in a vice so I could pound something into other end to make it long enough (Use long thin flat head) I tried everything before this as I won't give Echo (on line for $19.04 + 5.98 shipping) that much $. ***ALSO *** E-bay sells China carbs for the 770 for $15!. I saw a vid & it looks easy & worked great (so far) & HAS A FLAT HEAD ADJ. SCREW!!! I hope I've helped you as I banged my head for the longest. (edit: in my exp. all used blowers are slowed- down by a clogged spark arrestor. it's a screen at the exit of the muffler that 2 cycl oil has clogged. Throw this useless screen away BEFORE anything else!) I'M NOT SURE I even recommend this anymore b/c this tiny adj. screw is real stiff to keep from vibrating out of adjustment & it is tiny. My system might round it off so MAYBE replacement w/ a Chinese carb w/ a flat head adj screw is better LISTEN: The BIGGEST, BIGGEST improvement one can make is to lengthen that short blower tube. Being short (5' 8") I just unscrewed both tubes & connected them about 2" into each other then used strong black tape. If you're taller, you may need to order an extra section & fabricate. The end of the tube should be 2-3 feet away from your feet with no hands on. I AM NOW RARELY USING full power so: longer life more satisfying performance! One last clue. If you're adjusting any 2 cycle carb that has a slow adjustment, do not touch that adj. screw.

Looks like a 5/64 tension (get the longest @ Ace Hardware) will fit onto the carb adjustment. First use penetrating oil on the tiny adjustment stem. Echo stop selling any adjustment tool. Open just a hair! Do nothing else but there are clues in my other posts here. (find that pre air filter etc)

Hi! I have a 500T. It sat for several years. SO, I replaced the carb, fuel filter, spark plug; and the fuel, of course, adding a touch of Seafoam. It started right up; but wouldn’t maintain idle, snd then wouldn’t te-start. I found the coil resistance way too high. I’m surprised I got any spark at all. I replaced the coil. Now, it starts right up on full choke, snd idles beautifully with the choke off. When I go to increase the throttle;however, it wants to cut out - lower the throttle and it returns to idle. The most I can give it is half throttle. Would this be the high adjustment? Which way do I go with it, if so. I don’t have the adjustment tool. Some on KZread use a flattened roll pin.

GOOD NEWS: Echo 91186 for only $11 is the adjustment STEM ONLY B U T if you squirt some spray oil in the hole where the (very stiff) carb adjustment is, it becomes much easier to turn. That is what was actually needed. I believe the 50 cent tool will work now! Just open it a TINY bit & FORGET IT otherwise you'll get lost trying to find the sweet spot. Don't skip the last paragraph below.
