ECG Interpretation - ECG Lead Perspectives
www.acadoodle.com
The different leads of the ECG examine cardiac electrical activity from different perspectives. In this video we teach you the perspectives of the 12 ECG leads on cardiac depolarosiation and repolarisation. We consider the 12 leads in two groups of six, with the six chest leads (V1-V6, also referred to as the precordial leads) examining the flow of cardiac depolarisation and repolarisation in the horizontal plan and a second group of six leads (the standard leads and augmented leads) which examine these events in the vertical plane. For the experienced practitioner, looking at different areas on the ECG readout is like looking at different anatomical regions of the heart. Also, understanding the lead perspectives is crucial in the interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias.

This has been the single most helpful explanation that I have run across thus far. All of your videos are *terrific*! Thank you so much for putting them together!
Best ECG explanation, just wonderful!
For the first time i am able to understand the concenpt of leads. Thank you
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I knew somebody would be able to simplify this. Well done.
very clear explanation of the frontal and chest leads. thank you!
this is the best explanation i've ever seen of EKG
Wow, this is an amazing explanation! Thank you so much!
Thank you soo much, I have been struggling with understanding ECG and this helped me a lott!! Hope to see videos for understanding Xrays too. Thank u!!
Best explanation! Thank you.
So helpful! thank you, now I’m going to check out your other videos!
Fantastic! Besides getting your left and right mixed up on the paper...
thank u :) best video on ECG i have ever seen
Couldn't imagine a better explanation: I was hoping the chest leads would be diagrammed with a transverse view, and lo! they were. The best.
At 2'54" - you refer to the V1-V6 leads being on the LEFT HAND SIDE of the paper. Did you mean to say RIGHT HAND SIDE of the paper or have I missed something?

Gee, interesting point. This is why I have always been confused regarding left/right and anatomy, etc. Let's say you were facing someone, then their left ventricle would be on your right, no? I got corrected in my physiology class for this - it's considered the left ventricle because you have to place yourself in the body containing the heart, and then it is on the left side. So if you were to apply this principle to the piece of paper here, it's on the left side of the piece of paper if you put yourself into the piece of paper, no? But in common usage, your average person would call it the right side of the paper, because they switch assumptions for different objects. Doesn't really matter here - he shaded and labeled the relevant leads...
Nice one
Thanks 🙏🏼🌸🌸

Unfortunately the descriptions in the video of the positions for the chest electrodes from V3 to V6 are wrong. The correct positions are described here: www.scst.org.uk/resources/SCST_ECG_Recording_Guidelines_2017am.pdf
What country are you from? Europe orders these leads differently than do Americans.
