The cardiac axis made ridiculously easy

Determining the cardiac axis on the ECG is much easier than most people think. The problem with the cardiac axis is that every book explains it in a slightly different way. Many of these ways are overly complex. In this video, we'll teach you everything you need to know about the cardiac axis and how to diagnose it on the ECG - i.e., EKG. Plus, you will learn our simple and reliable method to determine the axis in under 5 minutes.

Do the length of the R and S spikes have to do with determining the cardiac axis? I'm reading a book that says that when they're equal in a lead then that lead is at a right angle to the cardiac axis. But the book is really difficult and I'm not sure I understand.
