A first in Australian combat sport history with both fighters being amputees battling it out in the cage for 5 rounds of modified Muay Thai ruleset in 4oz gloves in the cage!
These survivors have both been through hell and back and deserved more than anything to continue to fight regardless of their new bionic limbs so we are made this happen!!
Buck Cooper fighting out of The Movement Zone Ulladulla NSW with a background in Karate, Kickboxing and BJJ had a head on motorbike accident with another motorbike back in 2013. With his leg torn off and pulling the nerve that went from his arm out from his spinal cord. Buck broke every rib on his left side, puncturing a lung and shattering his pelvis. His bladder was torn in half as he laid on the road with his guts and bones hanging out. Most of his blood was lost, dying multiple times before being brought back to life each time it was touch and go for about 5 days in a coma. Buck lost his left leg and his ability to use his left pec and arm but continues to train every day never giving up!
Glenn Dickson with a background in Muay Thai, was spearfishing when he surfaced with a freshly caught fish, a large bull shark latched onto his leg and dragged him under. It viciously mauled a second time as he gripped a rock, before his mates raced over in their boat to help. The shark cut through Glenn’s leg like a chainsaw severing his leg as he struggled for survival battling catastrophic blood loss. A 360 degree cut around his thigh, and every artery severed including another massive gash on his calf.
Dying around six times before and was revived each time before being in a coma for a week.
Glenn lost his right leg just below the hip but continues to not only train but also owns and operates his own Muay Thai gym Survivor Fitness !
Both these men have shown resilience in life beyond what many could not imagine and we are proud to have made this fight happen and these men absolutely went to war in the cage!
