EBC Brakes and EBC Brakes Racing have joined forces to bring you the ultimate stock vs aftermarket brake test.
It’s common belief that upgrading to aftermarket pads and rotors on a vehicle improves the braking performance… but how much of a difference does it actually make?
In this series, with the help of some state-of-the-art data logging equipment and a professional racing driver, we set out to answer that very question.

(Please note: In order to ensure a level playing field, all brakes were bedded-in as matched sets and using the same bedding-in process before the test day. To reduce pedal flex and prevent the fluid boiling, the Fiesta was also fitted with EBC’s stainless braided brake lines and bled with EBC’s BF307+ Super DOT 4 racing brake fluid. Finally the car was fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres).
After performing stringent AMS brake tests (stay tuned for videos of these coming soon), professional BTCC racing driver, Jake Hill, got behind the wheel of the car with both brake setups, and was let loose on a closed race circuit - Castle Combe. Jake then gave his honest feedback on how each brake setup performed when pushed to the absolute limit on track, highlighting the differences between the EBC and stock components.

Put these yellowstuff pads on my ST for my first track day and they performed great!! Wasn't going too hard because I had a rally a few days later, but when I had to press the brake pedal a little extra, the car stopped even harder! No fade!
We had great fun filming this before the lockdown! Can’t wait to launch the next episode.
I’ve used ebc on my 350z, never had an issue and great performance. I’m now running a z4 e86, on Brembos (grooved discs) with their performance pads. Unfortunately the discs have warped after about a year - with in around 10k miles (which never happened in my the four years I ran ebc on the 350z.
Don’t think most people are running their cars on a track. I’m thinking the majority are looking for a really good street pad. With that in mind, would really like to see stock pads, green, red, yellow and blue all tested in straight line braking. Less emphasis on fade with heat and more emphasis on stopping distance improvements and “feel” of the pads during low speeds as well as highway speeds.
I really like Yellow Stuff pads and EBC. Had Yellow Stuff in my Megane RS250 and they performed great around Oulton Park for the most part, however they didn't last the full day. I'd love to try them in my Fiesta ST, so I think that'll be my next upgrade or EBC big brake kit depending what I do power wise.

Just ordered some EBC USR discs and Yellowstuff pads for my S4. Cant wait to see how they feel. The standard brake pedal feel is already pretty aggressive so I hope I wont be going through the windscreen every time I touch the brake pedal!!

I use the USR with Redstuff pads and they are excellent with way less dust than oem. Can’t go wrong with EBC.

I've had good past experience with EBC Yellowstuff on street and for quite a few trackdays at Arizona Motorsports Park in my Fiesta ST (maybe good for 2 weekends, 12 or so 20 min sessions). However, they are inadequate for harder tracks on my fronts. Note that EBC no longer recommends them for track use. At Inde Motorsports Ranch, after puttinh about 5K road miles on Yellowstuffs before the weekend, I was down to the backing after 8 x 20 min sessions (sneaked home metal-on-metal and finished knackering the rotors...). Before this last weekend at Podium Club - a new track with some intense braking - I put on fresh EBC slotted front rotors and the recommended Bluestuff pads. After 6 x 20 min sessions they were down to metal on front inside pads (!!!) I guess next step is to try the RP-1 and if they can't last I guess I need a BBK! BTW, I'm almost box stock with stock power and I wasn't getting any noticeable fade - braking performance was good, just no endurance.

Dear EBC. In this episode You compare oem brake vs EBC only in front axel or you change brake pads/disc in front and rear axel ? In rear same ? EBC yellow + USR ?
