I usually go first, even with kaidos. But I don’t always get to choose. This is an awesome strat for second. Also I have red roc instead of the blade. I find this great against big mom, but I might swap out to blade for the op07 meta. Thanks for showing your thought process too. Always great to see how a top player thinks 👍

I liked your draw/draw/play sequence in the beginning! I’m always trying to use his leader effect on the second turn and always wish I had more bodies on board instead.

I don’t leader ability on 2nd turn (4don) because if you swing 5k with leader they’ll probably take the first hit anyway, and you can raw-develop a 4 cost (active character) instead of swinging 8k with leader ability and using 1 don for leader ability (rested character) So on 4don turn, it’s a better result to have opp take -1 life/neg -1 card and have yourself an (active) character RATHER than have opp take -1 life and have a (rested) character

@@thegib9129 noo please don’t feel dumb! :( also forgot to mention that if you don’t see any searchers in your starting hand, raw-developing 4c gives you 1 extra turn to find a searcher for 6don turn from either life or your next drawn card. And from 6 don you just need 1 searcher to carry your next two turns until you hit 10don for kaido, so just 1 searcher is really ever needed the whole game

@@wimmiebear yeah for sure i would only ever put a 4 cost out turn 2 of i didnt have perona but i will definitely keep in mind that i can do it even if i do see perona turn 1

I think going first is better because you're on curve for Gravity Blade and you'll have 1 extra character

Totally up to the player and what they run in their deck :) but I think second curve works well for me better. On 8 don turn my favorite line is 7 for gravity blade + 1 for attaching to a 6k character, swinging for 7k OR 1 for 1c law

Wow! I'm subscribed but I saw this late. Fantastic explanations Wimmie, especially of ordering your top cards and how you can sequence them to get the best efficiency out of your DON!!. I was running Mihawk/Sanji for a while as it's a lot of fun to see people's reactions to the combo, but I'm going to be playing your Kaido variant next week. How are you feeling about OP07's changes to the Doflamingo deck? Will you be posting a video of what your deck will look like POST 07? I'm incredibly excited for it. Doflamingo will absolutely be a meta contender!

I find that I’m only able to easily beat RP law players who overuse their leader ability, so by the time I’m at 10 don they’re at 3-4. Those are the laws you can beat with doffy. But if they’re the type to be wise about using leader ability it’s very hard to beat them

So in general do you want to be defending board/life every chance you get to keep healthy for 10c kaido turn?

Depends on the matchup, sometimes against aggro decks you wanna keep your life healthy late game because this deck plays late game in your favor

Personally I like 1c law better because he’s cheap and can be recycled with Moria but duval isn’t a bad pick
