Flight Stop is in storage during the renovation/restoration of the galleria ceiling/glass. There is a display with regard to this near the bridge to The Bay (across from Harry Rosen).

Eaton Centre to City Hall sounds like a pretty short walk (all of what, a block?). But maybe he was too full after thanksgiving dinner to walk any further. 😄

Lime Ricky's was the restaurant that used to be on ground level that had outdoor dining just north of the Shuter intersection. That restaurant on the upper floor was Mr. Greenjeans.

When I was in high school in Montreal Eatons was a dominant retail force 1959 os so ..... I was selected to represent my school on the Eatons Jr Council. A major honor in those days gone by ....being on the council gave u the opportunity to go into retail after graduation

I jumped the gun I thought perhaps you could get through the segment without making some disparaging remarks, but you always seem to say something negative. You’re quite the Debbie downer aren’t you?

A trip down memory lane! I used to hit the Eaton Center at least once a month when I lived in Toronto in the late 80's, then once a year after I had moved back to Sudbury (along with the Yonge St head shops for their cheap t-shirts and posters). I've only been a handful of times since moving to the States in 2001, but I am happy to have brought my kids to experience its wonders back in 2018. I didn't recognize any of the stores from over 30 years ago, but back then there was still an Eaton's, and a Simpson's on the south side of Queen, not to mention three book stores in the mall, and the Coles' flagship "World's Biggest Bookstore" a block north.

Sadly the World's Biggest Bookstore was knocked down a couple of years ago. Yonge St. has changed so much from what it once was. All of those little shops are gone and many businesses and restaurants have been bought out to make way for condos and high rises. I've been living in Toronto for 20 years but I'm from Sudbury. My entire family all live in the Big Nickel

@@peppyd Yeah, I witnessed the remains of a once great bookstore during my 2018 trip to Toronto :( I left Sudbury for good in 2001 and have only been back four times since, the last in 2016 so I could show my kids my hometown. My parents moved to the Ottawa area soon after I left.

I’m surprised this mall is even thriving with the pandemic because we’ve got a lot of dead malls in the United States.

A lot of the smaller and regional malls in Canada are dying off too. This one happens to be in the centre of a dense, urban population in a city that freezes over in the winter. It will always do well IMO. Suburban malls I can't imagine being much of a thing in 50 years.

Dear Mr. Johnny Strides.... Action KId.... Thekencontinuum..... All-Star Power.... Toronto has never experienced such triple-powerplay... Oooops!.... "You're writing the wrong scene!" the Director shouted..... "This is a solo Johnny, scene because the Action Kid and Thekencontinuum is another scene in another vlog stream!"..... "D'oh!" The Writer exclaimed.... "Get me a new writer, yeah that Canadian guy.... Clayton!..... Clayton Crawford.... He knows how to scribble and get the scene correct!... I am surrounded by amateurs!" the Director ranted....The Eaton Center, the central supermall of Toronto, and our hero, Johnny, is once again on the ball and at the top of his game.... The Eaton Center Adventure nowhere in the great metropolitan city of Toronto is there so much retail action.... the end.... Always in Good Taste...... CHEERS!.... Be Supportive and Subscribe... Johnny Strides.... "Way Dude!"
