Most people try it at room temp, but it tastes so much better if you freeze it for about an hour- it’s like ice cream. Or if you blend it with ice and condensed milk, it’s tastes good too. Having it cold also makes it smell less. I personally like the smell; I smell its sweetness and creaminess.

There’s a type of durian called “musang king” it said that it’s expensive and the most delicious durian they’ve ever tasted

Here's a tip. I love durian and so I know. When you open, cut off the stem. Then turn it upside down, use the sharp bottom end point of the butcher's knife and chuck it down hard. Then you can rip it open easily.

I’ve eaten so much durian, but i’ve never tasted garlic in it. Ever. Doesn’t smell bad, much less like garlic.

There's different flavors of durians, the flavors I know are: -Alchohol (a bit bitter) -Buttermilk (sweet) All durians are sweet, I personally like buttermilk best. Its really creamy, sweet and not bitter at all.

To me it's so delicious... Here in my country, the Puyat variety tastes perfect! Maybe you're just not used to it Nick.

I mean sure i wouldn't like the smell of my car after having durians in the backseat for a day. But garlics?? Even the color looks weird XD Nick, your durian is not fresh. It must've been kept for days. It's probably impossible to preserve fresh durians for shipping. Even in Malaysia, it's best to eat them within 2-3 days after it's collected from the farm. And uh we only use knife to split the top of the fruit. The rest is just peeling barehand. Even as a girl myself, I find it easier barehand.

What the hell man with Asian accent

To be honest, that durian looks like its spoiling and fermented you can get drunk if you eat it too much. In Malaysia, if there's brown spots on the skin of the fruit or the skin is brown all throughout, we throw it away. Signs of durian ripe and at its best time to eat is when its green in colour, the butt smells sweet and the stalk is still green. I promise you, if you can get your hands on that type of durian, you'll change your mind how you look at durian.

@@sorrow9266 Im glad you asked. In Malaysia there's a few food that can get you drunk (literally if you eat it too much) because from the process of fermenting suggests the present of alcohol. For instance, Tapai (fermented sticky rice). In this case, Durian. It also has similar effects. When it is left undamaged to spoil, Durian will turn brown which is a sign of fermenting & spoiling. Surprisingly, it tastes and smells alcoholic. Which also suggests the presents of alcohol. If you eat fermenting Durian way more than you should, you'll get drunk hahaha.

Wow and whaat, i think some people eat durian and like very hate it and think its not good but in my country people are waiting for durian season and very much like them and like i do to i think durian doesnt smell bad and its very tasty usualy me and my family eat like 4 durian fruit when one of us buy a cuple and its one of my favorite fruit.

I totally agree and I'm glad you shared your true experiences of the fruit. I will never understand how some of these folks find Durian smell/taste good! After trying so many times, I gave up and accepted the fact that it's not my tea! Maybe they find the vomit fruit taste/smell good too idk, I heard it's another awful fruit. Maybe it's like Cilantro, I mean.. I absolutely LOVE the smell of Cilantro and Parsley and I have friends who can't stand those herbs, they say it taste and smell like soap. At least soap smells good. 🤷

I used to have Durian in my house in the Philippines, the smell took over almost half of my house’s rooms lol.

I just hope he got a fresh durian,because this one doesn't look fresh. Sorry if my grammar bad 😊 (Edit: thanks for the like)

yep, I eat durians all the time and if they are not too ripe or underripe, it is not garlicly at all, when i eat overripe durian its sort of stinky and it has a slight garlic taste but its still aight

@@wuzz idk if it tastes like garlic but when i went to singapore to a durian shop where they served fresh durian, the extremely yellow ones tend to be more pungent in flavour, and the more lighter ones are creamier and sweeter

I want someone to create a scent similar to what people who say, "durian stinks" smells like so I can understand what they're talking about because I can't relate 😂

I talked my Chinese friend into cutting one open so I could try one. I loved it. I will admit that she had me eat a Durian popsicle first, which are the best way to start out with Durian.

Bro your is a tip for starting out eating a Durian. I recommend you eating Durian flavored ice cream or more.... first before taking on the fruit itself. And I recommend you to cut it from the bottom of the fruit it is much easier and if you want to get to the others try pressing down on both sides of the fruit which r empty cuz you never know if you find more of it 😉 hope you see my comment form one of your Asian (#Singapore) viewers 👍 Oh ur still here fun fact we have and building in Singapore with a nickname which is called the (Big Durian)= and the original name (Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay)

As a Filipina who *loves* Durian, I was shocked and confused all throughout the video. Like, to me, Durian smells...like Durian, it's sweet, creamy, and most of all, it doesn't taste nor smell like garlic. LOL Also, a Durian with water isn't a good Durian.

it's hard to find good durian and get it overseas , durian we love and enjoy here on South East Asia is from a good breed , i have tried the bad one before and coming from me who really loves the smell and flavour of durian can't handle how bad it was smelling

I am from Sri Lanka. I was also hating Durian. But eventually it became my favourite fruit. When you started to like it you are never gonna get rid of it. It is so delicious.

I’ve had durian every new year but umm I don’t think it’s supposed to smell like garlic ,but it’s really creamy, and sweet so I’m glad he didn’t eat the skin like some KZreadrs I’ve seen.
