Actually, there are some rules. One of them is to completely focus on eating/food while eating. Charak had laid down some eating rules, which include not wasting even a single grain of rice. There are rules for drinking water either before or after and never in between. Eating dinner before sunset etc. It is just that since british invasion we forgot all of them, they made life really hard for common Indian to obey the rules.

Thanks for the video, it is very helpful. I think one more etiquette is there.. The chopsticks which we are using for eating should not be used for taking the food or for serving from the main dish plate. This etiquette I learned from one of my Japanese colleague.

Indians also follow some rules or they are habitual to us (indians) but they are not strict as they are considered as basic eating manners. 1.we use our hands while eating so before eating we compulsory wash our hands and dry them .(we use only finger tips not whole freaking hand😂) 2.we use mostly right hand to eat .Indians consider the use of the left hand to be unclean and offensive. So the left hand remains dry and is only used for drinking water or passing dishes. 3.mostly we pray in our mother tongue or chant a shlok which is gratitude towards mother nature and our respected farmers . 4.Indian culture highly encourages sharing food with others but share only from the serving dish or bowl and not from your plate. Similarly, taking food from someone else’s plate is also considered bad manners. Also, do not dip your used spoon and fork into other person’s food or the main serving dish as it is considered highly unhygienic. 5.we usually compliment who cooked the food if it is satisfying But we don't complain about the taste as we appreciate the work .(sometimes this rule is not followed) 6.when you’ve finished your food early, then you must remain seated until the host or the eldest person at the table finishes their food. Getting up from the table when everybody else is still eating is considered ill-mannered. 7.Dont hesitate while eating in indian family until you are really full 😃 There are more etiquettes but enjoying the food with your full heart is most important manner and that's why we say we don't have many rules while eating . I hope it is right 😊
