I love the chicken foldover, the chicken pie and the curry chicken puff the most in Singapore’s Starbucks! It’s my favourite breakfast or snack whenever I visit. Yes that lychee cheesecake is really something! Very aromatic and looks good too!

We don't even get savoury pastries at our South Africa Starbucks around the area, and we only get like a few baked options, sandwiches and the basic coffees with an occasional special drink
Here for the hair comments
I have a theory that there are very few foods which cannot be improved by encasing them in pastry - this video illustrates that perfectly Mike !!
If I'm not wrong, most of those are provided by Malvados. They have since opened a few outlets which sells chilled/frozen versions of those which you can buy and heat up at home in an oven/air fryer/microwave. Closest outlet near Thomson should be at United Square.

I work for Starbucks. My store doesn’t even offer glass/real cups since the pandemic started. They took it away and never went back to it. So unless you bring your own cup, you have to drink out of paper/plastic. They’ve never offered plates or anything like that. Your food comes in a paper bag. Honestly, the amount of plastic waste is insane. I’ve noticed that most American companies abroad are so much better, and I honestly don’t know why? So many places here are overpriced with sh*t quality.

I see! Thanks for explaining! Is it because the franchisees in the US don't feel as threatened by competition? Brand too strong there? Here I guess they really need to innovate more because there's just too much good food per square mile/km in such a small place like Singapore, otherwise they'd be out of business. Heck, the McDonalds here is great because they keep coming up with new products (hits and misses but at least there's something new). KFC however, is a far cry from that success because they're comfortable with their fried chicken formula and they're getting ripped apart by competition (such as the recent Korean fried chicken trend). KFC is still delicious, but it offers mostly the same stuff as they did when I was a child in the 90s. They're almost never full-house.

I wonder what Starbucks around the world have to offer and what their food and drinks taste like personally in Australia I’ve never tried the breakfast items but I’ve tried their coffee options and frappechinos and for me the coffee isn’t bad but I prefer the frappes

I work for Starbucks. Tbh the food items you can get in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Philippines… pretty much *anywhere* in Asia blow the food items here in the US out of the water. I’ll take spicy tuna puffs and cheesecake over banana bread and tomato mozzarella paninis any day. 🥺🤤

correct me if i'm wrong. From my point of view, there are a lot of mom and pop shops that does all these pastries better in the US and that might be a reason why they do not have so many varieties. On top of that, these pastries in Singapore are viewed as "western food" so it's kind of special in a sense. In a way it fills that part of the market in Singapore. If starbucks in asia would server asian pastries, I don't think it will do well at all as they are fighting with the locals for the same market. I feel like the same logic applies to the US. Also there would be local asian pastry shop might do asian pastries better as well.

Oh the cheesecake!! The salted caramel apple one looked so so good 😍😍
This seems oddly sponsored.😒
I never go to Starbucks at home, but I routinely go to them while traveling particularly outside the US. They've saved me from poor hotel internet many times. I just order a sandwich and then drink every hour or so, and get my work done.
I have been sick for a week with poor appetite. Watching Mikey makes me drool.......my appetite is back.
Hi Mike, just want to say keep doing what you are doing right now! Really love the food contents that you are sharing on KZread as I have been watching them since you started your KZread videos on airline reviews! (Especially the Taiwan first class flight 🎉) Also, hope you will get a chance to try the 板面 at upper Thomson area near the Scissor Cut Curry Rice stall. (Not sure if you would remember me recommending this to you in person😅) But I’m really glad to see you in Singapore in person and hope you have a great time in Singapore!
Singaporean here and I go to Starbucks exclusively for the hot food. Some (discontinued) items I wish you could’ve tried - the sweet potato shepherds pie, roasted chicken and vegetable wrap (served with a mushroom truffle dip), apricot chicken sammich and I believe bulgogi pita. At least they kept the creamy chicken foldover!
Love the cheesecakes in Starbucks. They have unique limited flavours and they all taste great!
Love all your videos!! ❤
Cheesecake does makes my mouth watering 😂 the way Mike explain entice me want to try it 😂
That chicken and cheese bollo bun and that moon cake looks great. Awesome food vlog Mike. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. But it looks all so heavy!! I’ll need a nap 😂
Mike can make everything look so good.
Omg I love these videos!!!!
Love the videos!
Replace the sour lady of Starbucks with the cheesecake 😂🤗 the food looks good. Always enjoy Mikes videos
Glad you tried the chicken foldover i love that so much!
I love Starbucks's spinach & feta cheese wrap! Not to mention quite a few of their drinks! Super yummy! 😋😋😋😋😊🤣
Highly recommend to try in Thomson area - Rong Cheng Bah Ku Teh, and So Good Char Chan Tang at Midview City if you’re still in Singapore 😊 I stay around the area and I find these to be pretty good, further down you can also try Two Chefs restaurant for their famous butter pork ribs and hor fun.
Hey Mike ! i would really love to see some travel videos.. i love seeing you try foods on airplanes and airport lounges as well as local cuisine. this was a great video too ! love to see you travelling again !
I haven't been to a Starbucks in ages. Those dishes look really good.
It amazing the cost to me everytime, here is canada 🇨🇦 we would pay so much for that food, of course they don't have it here in our Starbucks but go there for a frapp is over 6 if not more. Love the videos Mikey 📹 😀😀
ahhh... my favorite episodes.. mikey destroying a chain (in a good way)
If you like that bolo bun, you need to try out Champion Bolo Bun at Tanjong Pagar! It is sooooo good. Do try out cheesecakes from Cat and the fiddle. They have better cheesecakes than Starbucks!
Yep. Chicken foldover and the cheesecakes are my usual go-to!
Time to explore the heartlands in Singapore too Mike 😊
The truffle creamy chicken foldover is our favourite at Starbucks
I love it when you list down the prices
There’s some wraps and pita sandwiches that’s savoury too on Starbucks menu too!
Smh look at his views now they are completely down!!! Business gone bad instantly!!!
lolllll i love watching him eat, but it does tend to feel like mike's never met a dish he doesn't like.
US Starbucks used to sell hot pastries (of course, not as extensive as the selection in Singapore), but the "aroma/smell" of bacon, meat, etc, "ruined" the coffee smell (the mood) in Starbucks and so Starbucks scaled back to just a few selections of cold pastry and sandwiches, etc (the type that does not require extensive heating up, thus no 'offensive smell').
The sausage isn’t lup cheong but it’s just a normal chicken sausage. There are no pork products in Starbucks Singapore, if you noticed the workers there are mostly Muslim Malays

Hi Mike I was wondering if u had a video or could make a video on camera set up if u wanna start a mukbang

That Starbucks is my weakness, I loooove savoury pastries, cheesecake and sandwiches
Awesome job Mikey.
How to tempt me to going to Singapore with telling me to go to Singapore...The Lychee Cheesecake handsdown!!! Its morning here 7 I am now soo oooo hungry! US Starbucks have a very long way to go!! Have a super day in Singapore!

If you are going to hawkers or what locals here call kopitiam, cash is the main mode of payment, although more and more of them are moving towards cashless methods, mainly credit cards. Restaurants usually offers credit cards and sometimes google/apple pay as modes of payment In terms of travelling around, you can purchase an EZ link and store cash value to it (this can be used to pay for food and groceries at certain places too), and use it to take the MRT (local subway) and buses. Google maps does provide information on what buses and trains go to your selected destination. There isnt Uber here, you may use Ryde, Gojek, or Grab for ride sharing platforms. Alternatively, you may rent bicycles to tour the island on wheels but take note, Singapore may not be as bike friendly on roads as compared to Europe

You don’t really have to purchase any card for public transport. You can tap your credit card or apple pay to get through the gantry.
All looks delicious
i love the rosemary chicken croissant, it's super yummy but sadz you din try that dish! 😅
Pizza? That kind of looks like an egg tart or a hand pie!🎉 I would have never guessed that that was a pizza lmao😅

Starbucks is also expensive in Singapore as is in the USA.
Your love for buffet restaurants is understandable. Are their chefs in Singapore moving Asian Cuisine forwards? Are any of them pushing on the cultural envelop to see what the future might be? Are their restaurants doing tasting menus? You're in a wonderful position to present the future of food in Singapore if you wish to. I hope you'll give this some thought.
All those savory pastries 🤤

U should try the sausage roll from Polar. A pastry/pie shop in Singapore. It's my fav sausage roll to eat.
Hey Mike!!!! We live in Fort Worth and I was wondering if you could recommend a genuine mouth numbing Szechuan restaurant in the DFW area?
Man, they could serve one of those pies or quiches at Starbucks here in the US. I'm not going to even mention the cheesecakes!!
We need this in our Vancouver Starbucks.
Damn hot pie and cheesecake fun!
Chicken potpie and quiche would be a hit in USA. I know I'd do my part!
Isn't this Keith's thing?
*if Starbucks in my country offered food as good as this one i would go there more ^^*
It looks like Starbuck stole all the good Aussie food when they left Australia! Although that sausage roll isn't a sausage roll it's a coles sausage (cheap australian BBQ staple) in in pastry! If you were excited about that, you need to come to Australia to sample some REAL pies :D
I miiiiiiissssss that hot dog wrap. They used to sell it here in the states. At least they dont at the ones i go to anymore.
I would die happy stuffed with savoury pie, cheesecake and quiches
Most of the pastries in StarBucks Singapore are average in taste. Most don't stand out on their own but Mike's massive and generous vocabulary gave them a big boost. A couple of them taste quite good though. And yes, the Lychee Cheesecake is heavenly. My personal favourite

The beef n creamy chicken pie my favs ..
Starbucks malaysia have some of these plus other sort of locally inspired dishes as well, but the food is bad like their roti john was the worste ever that i have ever tasted and their cheese cake tasted like it has absorbed all the flavours in the chiller. Your review is intriguing, definitely will try their food if im in singapore.
You stay at upper thomson road and around Thomson plaza. Cool.
So is Bolo bun basically the chinese version of japanese melon pan?
In Singapore you should go to Lorong 18 Geylang, Mike! You'll be a happier man!
hmmmm i recall really liking the quiche at the starbucks in the Philippines. and the food in starbucks Seoul is good too. not sure why the US has a more limited menu? but in Asia, we'd like a one stop shop ie mini stop, lawson, family mart.... so better food options is a natural evolution of starbucks sg. the sb reserve at paya lebar mall is really nice. the food in cbtl is really nice too
how about the wraps! those are great
Do a coffee bean as well!
Starbucks anywhere outside of the US is SOOOO much better! Great video :D

mike not available in europe thats breakfast in the uk to the rest of the world we eat full english for breakfast, most folk go to greggs for breakfast, pies pastys and sausage rolls, looks cool that in Singapore and loved what you thought about all the pies, we have pies in sandwiches.....
Hey Mike, you went to one of the better Starbucks (Bishan Community Centre) outlets but you missed out on 2 of the hot items that I usually go for: Egg White, Roasted Pepper, Mushroom & Cheddar Wrap (it kinda looks ike a breakfast burrito) & the Meatless Beef, Avocado Omelette, Mushroom & Cheese Wrap both are very tasty meatless options. Till you pointed it out, I didn't realise that Singapore's starbucks menu is unique, I just assumed it was available everywhere else. We are indeed lucky to be in Singapore
