Eat Whatever You Want With Gut Issues (or not)

"Eat Anything When You're Hungry" - I would suggest taking a step back and reflecting on this.
If you're dealing with gut health issues, you might have been told by nurses or healthcare professionals to 'eat anything when you're hungry.' Even McDonalds, KFC, and beige food (I was)… but this isn't the best advice for managing your condition.
It's crucial to eat foods that nourish your gut, which are going to help move you out of a flare up as quickly as possible. Then, prevent further flare ups from happening. Instead of reaching for anything, focus on:
🍗 Lean Proteins: Foods like chicken, fish, and tofu can be easier on your digestive system.
🥕 Cooked Vegetables: These are often easier to digest than raw veggies. Think about steamed carrots, spinach, or courgette.
🥑 Healthy Fats: Avocado, olive oil, and flaxseeds are great choices that can help reduce inflammation.
🍌 Low Fibre Fruits: Bananas, melons, and applesauce are gentle on your gut.
It's also important to stay hydrated and consider smaller, more frequent meals instead of large ones. This can help your body digest food more easily and prevent flare ups.
Remember, everyone's body is different, so it might take some time to figure out which foods work best for you.
