SUMMERY- skip to 5:35 eat foods like: salmon, avocado, olive oil, almonds, beans, green tea, cyan pepper, vinegar and lots of protein, as it takes more energy to digest them. Also make sure to sleep and exercise, its about everything not just your diet. like this and YOUR WELCOME

+qaq ssq I feel the same! I used to be over 200 lbs over 8 years ago, and I feel as if my stomach, chest and arms can never be firm from the flab. Even when I dropped down to 138 a few years ago, I can't even remember what my tummy was like but yeah, It of course wasn't firm at all, ugh lol

Aw, I feel your pain, girl :/ I'm a big foodie and I definitely eat for comfort, so I'm trying to combine my love of cooking up decadent things with my desire to be healthy. I like Cassey's idea about one YOLO meal per week, that works well for me. I find that it can even be two YOLO meals as long as I exercise and eat right the rest of the time. And as far as veganism goes, I think moderation works just as well as cutting it out completely. If you eat animal products very rarely (once every other week for a treat, maybe) then you're doing just as much good for your body (and for the environment and animal welfare) as you'd be doing if you literally never ever had animal products. The human body evolved to be strong and stay alive, so it can filter out unhealthy things *occasionally* as long as you're not *constantly bombarding* it with crap. I eat at McDonald's, like, once a year haha. It won't kill me, as long as once-a-year-I'm-in-a-hurry-gotta-eat-before-I-get-a-migraine doesn't turn into something I do every week. So basically, have that garlic butter roast salmon mashed potato feast with chocolate cake after! Enjoy it, and don't feel guilty! Just don't load up on fat the NEXT day as well. Hope this helps :)

So why are high carb, low fat vegans not gaining weight? (unless they were underweight before and have gained weight) Cassey, I'm editing this comment because I LOVE your personality and dedication and everything you do with POP Pilates and I don't want you to think I'm against you D: Because really, you are one of few youtubers who actually work hard and are true to themselves. I don't want to judge anyone for their choices when they have their own battles, but I want to share my opinion. The only thing I'm against is some of your advice for weight loss, like calorie restriction and eating animal products to burn fat. I just want people to eat an abundance of good and nurture their bodies with fruits and veggies and starches. There are so many amazing and healthy alternatives to meat, dairy, and even eggs nowadays that anyone can go vegan and not "feel a thing" haha

Not to be mean or rude or anything I respect your eating choices! But Cassey made a video a while ago about how she really doesn't appreciate all of the diff types of well eaters post comments against the way she eats or attacks how other people eat. It is kind of offensive to tell someone they're wrong for what they believe in/choose to eat, don't you think?

  • @katsanz21

Contrary to what most people think carbs are actually good for you. When your body digest food it burns of the calories from the carbs first, then protein, and finally fat. So someone who is not consuming animal products probably is eating a diet high in carbs and protein but low in fat, thus potentially a lot leaner. However while being vegan has tons of benefits it also has its cons, such as being deficient in vitamin B. But with proper care one can supplement and be a healthy vegan. 😃

Where are you getting your information from? The human body has enzymes that are specifically for digesting meat and broccoli definitely does NOT have more protein than most meats. That average biology class would tell you that. Even if broccoli was higher in protein it would not be a complete protein. The body needs certain amino acids to build muscle so most vegans have to mix their protein sources so they get the proper amount. If you don't get all of the amino acids you need your muscles will begin to diminish due to muscular atrophy which is why some vegans are so slim. Most vegans know that in order to remain healthy they have to plan out what they eat to a certain degree so that they get the nutrients they might miss from other sources. The carbs that Cassey described to not eat are the ones that do not positively contribute to the body like white bread, certain desserts, etc. I know "vegans" who still eat too much junk food and are overweight because they eat empty calories all the time. High carb vegans typically eat good carbs such as whole grains, fruit, etc. and a variety of other nutrients like beans and quinoa which is why they stay healthy because they eat foods that benefit the body and eat from multiple sources. They generally eat the items Cassey said to eat minus the fish.

Amanda Sharples Please add more fats into your diet as well, many vegans go back to eating meat due to their lower intake of A. Not enough protein and B. Too little fat. Avocados, olive oil and nuts are amazing for you. My friend nearly went back to eating meat after feeling terrible even though she was "smashing in the calories" eating too much made her feel bloated and tired. She added some healthy fats to her diet and feels much better, she also doesn't binge eat like Freelee recommends.

If you're old enough to move out then you're free to make choices about it. For now just try to exercise to stave off additional weight.

Alyssa Lopez maybe you need to incorporate more strength training, plan days where you focus on the area you want to increase mass (legs, butt, or arms for example) and just do some weight training. If you continue with a proper diet and some cardio, you should be able to keep whatever you want down, and whatever you don't want down, fuller :^)

  • @iamisabel5705

You lose weight from where you first gained it. This means that if your goal is to lose weight from your stomach only, it won't happen. If you first gained weight in your stomach then it's probably going to be the last area you loose the fat. And remember, if you're just doing strength training and not a lot of cardio, you will lose weight but you will also gain muscle.

I was wondering if you could do a video on eating disorders, like anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, fear of unhealthy foods, and overexercising. I think it's incredibly important for people who are trying to lose weight to be aware of these things to avoid them and make sure their whole self is being nourished as they get healthy. Love, Emma.

If you're consistently missing your period after you go vegan, it's your body SCREAMING at you that it is malnourished.

At the end of the day, success begins and ends with you. You have to decide you want to do better for yourself and nobody else. It wasn't until I decided I wanted to lose weight that it actually happened... I decided I wasn't going to eat certain things, workout and be consistent... and I leaned out, inspired people around me and everything (then fell off the wagon but that's another story lol). I feel that today, to much emphasis is on looking aesthetically pleasing and it should be more about preventive care... it cost too much money to be sick. God Bless and all the best everybody and find what works (and is healthy) for you. Thanks for the info Cassey!

***** That's great and all but calling Cassey fat, ugly, chubby, a murderer, etc, saying *all* meat eaters will die from diseases, etc isn't going to win people's hearts over. You may mean will but there's LOTS of people within your movement who are violent, angry, bitter and inflammatory with their attacks, especially on people that Freelee deems as vegan public enemy no. 1. I understand you want to "save the cute animals" but let's be a little realistic here, not eating meat doesn't truly save any animal, as vegans only account for less than 5% of the population, meat eaters will fill that quota, nor calling meat eaters murderers and rapists will help either, don't be a tumblr vegan. Instead volunteer down at your local animal shelter, be active in fundraising to help communities (like my own) get animal shelters for strays and having medical supplies to aide animals that are hurt, job shadow veterinarians and vet techs to encourage more people to go into their line of work, create petitions to stop Rainforest destruction and encourage alternative, eco-friendly energy. Sitting at your computer shouting to the internet world that your vegan doesn't actually help, you need to be pro-active in the real world in order to make a change.

Also, HUGE green tea and water drinker this past 2 years or so ^_^

My hips are uneven due to scoliosis so makes it so much more difficult to exercise because I sometimes feel like my form isn't correct and random things start to hurt and my body just looks weird. Running is okay for me. Doctors tell me to swim...but swimming isn't really my cup of tea.

Yes! I have pretty bad scoliosis (two 40 degree curves) and this would be helpful. Just remember that you can still exercise with scoliosis, especially core exercises. Core exercises are especially good. By doing core exercises I actually almost eliminated the pain I was having from scoliosis. Though I'm still very uneven, I'm not in pain so remember that :)

***** I am a vegetarian (have been because I can't stomach meat since I was 10) but I believe that humans should eat some meat. People need to educate themselves in more science. If half of these vegans took an environmental science class they would understand that the earth NEEDs carnivores. But obviously we eat too much of it, especially in certain countries, but we should not stop eating it altogether.

I read the reviews (still doubtful). However, purchased and once received incorporated it in my daily routine. I was looking for a jump start to continue my slow but steady weight loss program. Approximately, two weeks into taking the supplement I was amazed to see the progress I was making. Example, within the last two weeks, I lost 4 1/2 lbs. So, for those "doubters" out there I say, make the purchase, do as directed and you will see the results just as I am! Just ordered another bottle. Thank you, Weight Loss Idealiss!

This doesn't work for me. When I ate totally clean, was working out a lot and did everything included in a "healthy lifestyle", my figure rarely changed. I did this for half a year in hope to improve my body and the way I felt about myself but nothing changed. No, I didn't do something wrong, so don't even think about telling me so. I eventually became so frustrated because I couldn't go out with friends twice a week to eat pizza, I couldn't even eat with my family, and I quit my healthy lifestyle. I went back to eating chocolate, fries, pizza, cake. And you know what? I lost 10 pounds. It just happened. I still move, I still workout and do yoga on a somewhat regulat basis, but I stopped this "workout every day" attitude. Of course I'm still chubby, I weight ~180 lbs on 5ft 11" but you know, I don't mind. I'm losing weight slowly, like half a pound a week and I'm fine with that. I'm not judging other people for maintaining a clean diet, working out and being happy with that. If it works for you, then do it. I wasn't happy with it and maybe that was the reason it didn't work for me. I don't eat much now, don't get me wrong. I never overeat. It takes two slices of pizza to get me stuffed. But I'm happy with eating cake and ice cream and working out once a week because I feel like moving in that moment. That's what fit's me and I'm happy with it :) and I'm glad I found Blogilates and did it for a while (it was a struggle!) because otherwise I wouldn't have found this healthy attitude I have now. I don't think I would've become so happy without you, Cassey. Thank you!

THANK YOU. i think you made one of the most important points. and i am loving your positivity. me? i don't eat clean. i don't have a car so it's hard for me to get fresh produce. and i'm in med school so i don't have tons of time to cook for myself. instead, i've been counting calories/macros for almost 3 years with Sparkpeople; although there are very few things i've cut out of my diet completely since starting then, there was a point this past year where i'd lost a total of 20 pounds. i've gained a few back, but i attribute that to a little bit of indiscretion and a LOT of stress in the past few months. and i do maybe one Blogilates workout a day. i'd love to be able to do every workout on the calendar every month, because i do find her workouts effective and fun. but that just doesn't fit into my life right now. ...but you know what? i'm CONTENT where i am. or at least i'm getting there. sure, i don't have society's "hot body," but i'm learning to accept what i do have. a body that works. a life that's fulfilling. i'm doing the best i can for right now. although a flat stomach would be nice, that's not the end-all be-all to my existence, and i'm still me if my curves aren't in all the right places. i'm not knocking anything that Cassey says. she's found something that works for her. and even though FreeLee likes to spread Haterade all over Blogilates, she's found something that works for her too. maybe eating clean would work for me--maybe i will try one of Cassey's meal plans one day and see what happens. but it doesn't work for everyone. for right now, "eat this/don't eat that" rules and restrictions would probably stress me out. and we all know that stress leads to belly fat which is why we all clicked on this video in the first place. :-P sorry i rambled. *drops mic*
