Eat Only What I Catch: Hunting for food in the frozen north

Ice fishing for Arctic Char and bow hunting for rabbit, and challenging myself to catch all of my protein for the day. Alaska is full of resources if you know where to look and my wife and I have been fortunate enough to catch our protein for the past 3 years. Today was a compressed time line where I went out on an empty stomach and came home with food in my belly and to share with her.

Can't go wrong with "Sweet Baby Ray's" barbecue sauce. Nice shot by the way👍

I'd say this is the: "Feast or Famine" diet whether you're dieting or not. Well done re: hitting your target-rather, your lunch and dinner. God bless.

Nice work! Those char are so tasty! I just got some bamboo arrow shafts so I'm going to make some arrows. Hopefully they will work ok for hares. They vary in weight a bit so I'm not sure how accurate they will be but I really want to get a hare with my longbow and wood arrows. I'll keep you posted.

Cool! I have some bamboo arrow shafts I need to work on too! Let me know what you do for small game points. I’m not sure what to do.

I'm going to experiment with a few types I just purchased from Three Rivers Archery. They are not cheap though! The Ace Hex blunts look very promising and cost effective but I have not shot them yet. About $3 each. I made a jig for my sander to get the 11 deg angle. Clay Hayes has a video on it. @@Benjamin.stevens
