I honestly never had a bad meal in Turkey except in a tourist area in one of the islands near Istanbul. The food is wonderful - even the simplest places.

I've been in Istanbul one month (out of a two month stay) and my favorite neighborhood places are the cafeterias! You get to choose from a big selection of items and the prices are very affordable. I've only made one dinner at the airbnb I'm staying at! Also, with tips - most places have brought me the credit card machine with the total already entered, and no way to add a tip - so I have been tipping in cash. Easy enough to do when you plan ahead. Thanks for the video - and I'll say hello to México for you when I get home at the end of September (I live in Mazatlán)!

Hi another wonderful video again as always 🙂 For early January, most rooftop restaurants have exterior sitting, thus a bit cold with coats and not as comfortable as interior ones...Which restaurants can you think of near Fatih that has a VIEW yet also have interior sitting?? Thanks in advance!

I lived in Adana for two years. I liked going to the small restaurant near my apartment during the winter. Adana kabob, shepherd salad, ekmek, and Chi. Such good memories. I miss my friends Fuat, Refik, and Osman.

Tea was charged in some touristed area including Istanbul but in smaller city they are free unless you walk in tea house. Bread in Istanbul is nice but in many others are old overnigt not good anyway. I miss the lavash🥰. People told me Turkish do not consider lavash as bread🤔...

Istanbul in general is a safe place, at least myself as a woman I don’t have to worry about being harassed as in my own country, I’m not even scared of hopping ALONE in the public transportation or going ALONE with my girlfriends to meet up somewhere and going back home alone at night. I also lived in other cities of Türkiye before moving to Istanbul, and were super safe to live too as a woman. My only suggestion would be, just keep an eye on your surroundings as we would do anywhere in the world (that doesn’t mean is because is “dangerous”, it is just for prevention).

You sit outside or inside . Everyone around you is ALWAYS smoking!!! The only thing I disliked about turkey it the smell of smoke wherever you go!

Agree. My husband and I were in Istanbul for a week but found very few options for Indian cuisine. Especially difficult for someone who is a vegetarian. However, your videos @BeryIstanbulTips were very useful. You are doing a commendable job indeed.
