Eat At This MUST TRY Iconic Disneyland Restaurant The Carnation Cafe | Disneyland Resort Restaurants
Hey Magic Journeys
Join us today as we take you to Main street to Dine at this iconic Disneyland restaurant. This restaurant opened as Carnation Cafe Ice Cream Parlor on July 17, 1955. Sponsored by Carnation, the focus of the establishment was an ice cream counter, where guests ate ice cream on stools. Guests could also eat their ice cream outside on a patio. The Carnation Cafe has definitely changed over the years, it no longer serves ice cream but the still has magic when it comes to the food it serves. Make sure to Book a reservation 60 days in advance of your Disneyland reservation as this restaurant can book really quick.

if anyone in the Bay Area is ever craving Walt’s Chili, they serve it at the Walt Disney Family Museum in SF!

You were awesome thank you! 😃
Camera quality on this one is insane !! Did you guys upgrade ?
A whole restaurant series would be fantastic!!!!!! I've really liked it when you guys have featured a specific restaurant to have a full dining experience at.
We can’t wait for the Christmas Foodie Guide , and we all know that you guys are gonna have the best tips and tricks for the holidays season, cheers!!!!
I love it when you guys explore the foods the parks offer, especially seasonally! The restaurant and treat reviews are always my favorite. I really appreciate that compliment idea for the cast members too!! What a lovely video!!
I'm old enough to remember the Carnation Ice cream parlor and no trip was complete before going home without having either a Big Thunder or Matterhorn Sundae, those were epic and what made being a kid at Disneyland the best! (Besides the rides)
Oooh yes a restaurant series! I always eat at the same places so I’m hoping to branch out!
I Love The Carnation Cafe. The food is Amazing. I do miss Oscar. He was So AMAZING. He ALWAYS made my families visit even more SPECIAL.
Yay so glad you guys put out an updated video on the Carnation Cafe! We will be trying it out for the first time in two weeks! We’ve gone to Disneyland for years and are just now trying out some more of the sit down places thanks to your videos! 💙
We’re from out of state and used all your suggestions on our trip to Disneyland last week. What a fun surprise to be eating in Carnation Cafe when you walked in. We were two tables behind you and can see my husband’s back (and us leave) when you’re eating appetizers. You are as cute in real life as you are on the videos. We didn’t stop to say hello because we noticed so many others saying hi and didn’t want to interrupt. Thanks for all your yummy suggestions!
SO MANY ICONIC FOODS!!!!!!!!!!
Cookies & cream is always my favorite ice cream.
I'd love to see the restaurants that have dining packages. Like Blue Bayou for Fantasmic or Plaza Inn for the Christmas Parade ♥️
Another great video! I don't even know if Disney has these options but if so it could be cool to have an episode dedicated to restrictions and allergies, example like dairy and gluten intolerances. Thanks for the fun 🙂
Love love love Carnation cafe. I actually had dinner at Carnation cafe when it was an ice cream parlor. My dad took us there and surprised us with saying this is our dinner. So we all ordered ice cream for dinner. Love the fried pickles & the baked potato soup. So yummy. Thanks for all your videos
I’m so excited for this restaurant series! Thank you for all you both do!
classic but brand new magic journeys vibes. love this and so appreciate you two going to the sit-downs!
Oh, that all looks so good! Fond memories of summers in the early 80s with my husband after we got married, actually don't think we really had much food there but we did enjoy the ice cream. My favorite flavor was and still is coffee. We had some wonderful nights sitting on the patio, eating our goodies and watching the Main Street Electrical Parade go by. Truly magical!
Yaaaaaay! You two always brighten my day.
Thank you for this video! I am so excited for this series 😍 Our family loves Magic Journeys 🥰
I want to thank you for helping me through a panic attack!!tou all are the best!
Janelle, I love your hair in this video and your cherry outfit is so cute. You two always leave me hungry for food and more fun times at Disneyland! Oh, those brownie and apple pie desserts!🍒🍧🍫🍎
Stoked for this restaurant series! I’m here for it.
I love the idea of a restaurant series! Super excited to see your upcoming videos (and especially the holiday foodie guide!!)
I love thos restaurant tour idea. I am excited to see what comes next.
Love this series!!! Great start! I just visited Disney & we got to dine at Carnation Cafe and it was delicious and we got lucky seating in the gondola thing outside!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love the restaurant reviews. Carnation Cafe is always our first meal at Disneyland. Love the breakfast there. Can’t wait to see the rest of the restaurants 😊
That patty melt looks so yummy! 😋
I used to always get breakfast at Carnation Café back in the 80s!
Thanks for the great video of Carnation Cafe. Looking forward to more!
Just the pep I needed for my day! ☺️🎉
I love the way you guys cut your food! You guys do it the proper way with the way you hold your utensils. I’ve seen so many vlogs with people eating food who hold their fork in a fist and cut their food like a 10 year old even though they are an adult. It’s a pet peeve of mine. But, you guys do it the proper way! I love it!
I made Walt’s chili for Halloween, and it was a huge success! It’s also pretty easy to make! Love it. Thanks for sharing, you two! You’re some beautiful humans!
My wife and I sat inside for breakfast and loved it!
I get so excited for your foodie videos!!! 🥹
Love this idea keep these videos coming live watching you guys
Great way to start the restaurant series! Love the idea! I actually have a reservation Friday for carnation cafe, perfect timing. Thanks for sharing

Carnation’s Breakfast is Awesome😋
I’m going through your restaurant videos and I love them. The food looks so good, but the dessert looks wow, Mint chip is my favorite ice cream ever .
I’m eating there tomorrow! Can’t wait for more of this series 😊
Video quality is so so so good! Keep up the great work you two. Hoping to see you when we visit Disneyland for the holidays!
I’m so happy to hear that you’re doing a restaurant series! Amazing!!!
Yay! A restaurant series! I hope you guys feature Blue Bayou next. 🤩
I am so grateful for this series! We are going for the first time in May! We have been to Disneyworld a few times but it will be our first time to California!
Such a fun loving and cute foodie couple! ❤️Thanks to both for your food review and history on Carnation Cafe. Chocolate chip or Rocky Road is my favorite, basically anything Chocolate. 😊 Walt's chili looked amazing.
You guys are so cute! I can’t wait to try some of the goodies I see in your videos when I visit in January! I’ve been eating the same things at Disneyland for too long and it’s time to mix it up!!
You guys made me hungry! Wonderful video!
Love this restaurant idea!
My favourite ice cream is a New Zealand classic and that is Hokey Pokey. Love the new series
Excited for another video, we go to Disneyland at the end of the month!!!
Love watching your videos. You have such a fun energy!
A restaurant series would be stupendous and you should do it. Carnation Cafe has always been on my list of restaurants in Disneyland to try. Walt's chili look very unique and I will have to give it a try on my next Disneyland visit. I never knew this place had a lot of history behind it, thank you so much for mentioning that. Looking forward to the restaurant series!
awesome video! I remember the Blue Ribbon cafe. One of my favorite memories is drinking a cappuccino there while watching the sun rise on Main Street during grad night.
I can remember seeing Oscar there. Wonderful memories.
Janelle's outfit makes me want to sing sweet like a nightingale
That original light fixture reminds me of the prisms they hung in Pollyanna. ❤️ Fav ice cream flavor, Strawberry Cheesecake but not Graham cracker in it. Omg sooooo good!
My favorite is during Christmas time .. The peppermint ice cream with the chocolate waffle cone with crushed candy canes on it!! Yum!
Absolutely loved this video! Cannot wait to see more in your upcoming restaurant series. Will really help me decide where to book for our holiday in January 💖
Following dessert with dessert. Now that's the Magic Journeys way.
Hi Magic Journey's, great video. So glad to have seen you go to the Carnation restaurant and showcase all that delicious food. 😋
😍 I’m so exited to try a delicious breakfast, we have reservations the sixth of January! 😍 Thank you very much 😊
The potato soup is my fav dish at the park!

Thank you!!
i love everything about fantasmic tho😅😅😅😅 so glad you guys uploaded a video im heading to the parks tomorrow🎉
I had Walt's Chili at Disney Studios for Light Up the Season in 2019. Loved it so much I got the recipe I think from a Disney site, but still not as good as at the studio. Favorite ice cream: I think it has to be New York Cheesecake (I think this at Bruster's Ice Cream), Key Lime Pie (also at Bruster's), and Rocky Road (as a kid).
Yes please on the restaurant vlogs, I can’t decide what places to pick for reservations
Love the fried pickles also, so good. Would love to see Hungry Bear & Rancho del Zocalo.
Awee we saw you filiming this video!!! Love watching you guys when we cant go to the oarks as we live to far
Love your videos
Hello Magic Journey, I can't wait for your Holidays Restaurant reviews, I remember coming to this restaurant as a kid, so nice that your reviewing the restaurant, Take care and Janelle you look Always Beautiful.
I've only been to The Carnation Café once and it was for breakfast because I heard they have the best Mickey waffles and wanted to try them. I'm not the biggest fan of chili but it does look really delicious. The fried pickles look really delicious too. I also love pickles but don't really eat them at the park. I would love to see a video for the Hungry Bear restaurant. I always eat at HB because it's so delicious. Also, I just wanted to say the thumbnail for this video is so pretty! 😁💕
We had Carnation Cafe reservations for Sun, Nov 6 at 6:30 PM, were waiting to be seated at our table when we saw a mouse run across the floor in the lobby. We didn't say anything, but all the hostesses were trying to keep their cool. about 5 min later we were led outside to our table. As we were looking at the menu, a waiter came over and said, "Due to technical difficulties, the kitchen is closing". I asked if it was because of the mouse situation and he said he couldn't say anything more other than they were having technical difficulties. But then we looked around and everyone else who was seated after us or at the same time, I guess got to stay as they had placed their drink orders. It felt very discriminatory. My husband and kids got up and we went and had hotdogs a few doors down. We've never eaten at Carnation Cafe and were looking forward to it since I had to fight tooth and nail to get a reservation 60 days in advance. We walked past the restaurant on the way out of the park and the restaurant seemed to be "jumping" and busy, so not sure why we were asked to leave and no one else was. I don't think I will support Disney for a long time due to this experience. I should have gone to City Hall, but we were all hungry and had waited already so long in the lobby to be seated. Oh well. I'll have to make my own fried pickles at home.
This is soooo COOL. I have NEVER eaten at this place. I have ONLY gotten ice cream or watch the piano player outside. Thank you for this. For the Gibson Girl. My go to was the Fantasia. It's been so long since I've been there I have NO IDEA if that flavor even exists anymore. (Yea I am old)
