It is one of the “best kept seam secrets” - in my opinion 🤓👍✂️ when my friend taught me this seam years ago- a light bulb went off in my head. Lol ( I do think it is underutilized in the sewing industry).

@@TheSewingChannel I don't use it in quilting (which I've picked back up after a 20 year hiatus recently during this "virus-time" as a mental break from long shifts at a hospital and from mask making to be honest) but I've always and often sewed/tailored my own and family members' clothes. As a 5'9" long legged and generously endowed woman, sewing properly fitting trousers, skirts and dresses has been a life (and budget) saver. Thirty-four years ago when I got married and got my own sewing machine, sewing home goods like curtains and my "grown-up" wardrobe was a necessity. Learning and using French seams made making professional looking items totally possible. Those generous seam allowances on commercial patterns definitely supports the use of French seams!

Now I can graduate from sewing face masks to sewing a pouch! Excellent sewing and ironing tips and great close camera shots! What brand tool are you using to poke out the corners? I started teleworking due to the virus and I look forward to watching you sew during my breaks and after work. You are such a professional, I learn so much. I also just noticed your backdrop on the wall. Brilliant!

Good instruction on the French seam. Having made and instructed French Hand Sewing by Machine 30+ years ago, I prefer a French Seam. On the little pouch, I found your box corners interesting. Have always formed the box corners on the inside. Found your method using buttons, creative and a "dressmaker touch".

Marie Stoner thank you for the kind words. I made a bag for my best friend awhile ago and used the “box out” technique on the outside like I did on this one and I absolutely loved it because it adds a whole different look to it. ✂️❤️✅
