    Am in the UK, and we have just heard the news that our county is going to go in Tier 3 lockdown. All these people not social distancing and not doing Ellen's Art Tutorials and staying in! My head is spinning as I cannot visit my boyfriend who is in London, I have more time on my hands (again!) but Ellen's art is getting me through this!

    As a Lockdown beginner who likes abstract and contemporary rural paintings and has followed a number of tutorials (others included online) I would say Ellen is unique in her love of colourful, rustic, and interesting and fun abstract paintings, that other YTubers who teach beginners don't really have. They may have the skill but each painting of Ellen's have a certain something about it, charm without being childish. I really like the building ones and the artistic splash splosh messy abstract art, or even having a beginners abstract journey which will be fun. I am a huge of playing out with textures, fabrics and experimental techniques, even my box house can actually have some charm to it, other than painted for 3 year olds. Also the projects are small which is economical and even if we are in lockdown, we can still be very busy doing lots of other things, and small projects are less intimidating and time consuming for us rookies. The projects are motivating not demotivating

    Hi , love how you deal with the blue sky . Adding more colour and cleaning and spraying !! As a beginner it is good to see that you can ‘manipulate’ your colours . 🙏💕

  • @beaulieuc8910
    @beaulieuc89103 жыл бұрын

    In my one, I made the sky brighter blue, and a touch of mauve at the bottom of the trees, with 'santa's/or a rural person's footprints' walking on the field towards the woods, as if it was 'Christmas morning'. I added a few dark brown grasses, and Payne's gray grasses. I added some salt for a 'crispy mood'. The focus was 'more the footprints' than the big tree on the left. I really liked the effect of moving the water on the sky, it instantly gave it a mood. Perhaps if the sky was even lighter, it could looks a bit misty as well. I am going to over the trees in gouche again as they were a bit faded. I am now looking forward to getting the masking fluid off and seeing a lovely organic circle but that will be all be done tomorrow morning. This type of painting can be used for so many seasons and it would be fun to learn 'seasonal sky' techniques.

    Lovely video, Ellen! Wanted to share a tip with you. 😊 I haven’t tested it out for myself yet, but I’ve seen it done in a video by another lady who does watercolor. When tiny spots of color/paint show up where you didn’t want them, like your little spot outside your circle, the “Magic Erasers” made by “Mr Clean”, are supposed to be very helpful in removing them. She tears off a small piece of the sponge, as needed. It seems to work better that way. I believe she used a little water and the sponge, applied lightly on the watercolor paper. If your paper is sturdy, you can even scrub it a little. It may not remove it all, but it should lighten it, at least. I hope this helps you. You’re such a huge blessing to me, I’d love to bless you back! 😃 God bless you, Ellen! May you have a sweet time with family this Thanksgiving, and a Christmas season filled with joy! Jacqui ❤️

    Another great vid Ellen. I have masking fluid but never used it yet. Question what the best way to apply. I hear it ruins your paint brushes. Do you dedicate a brush/es for masking fluid. Any ideas on how to use. Thanks again.

    Gorgeous!!!!!☺️☺️☺️☺️ Could you've done the trees with making glue and paint the sky and snow in the foreground. When you take off the glue the trees will be there?? Just wondering.
