Awesome video! I've used tit to downgrade an iPod Touch 4th gen, iPhone 5, iPad 4th gen, and now a iPad Mini 1st gen - and all because I wanted to play Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies (specifically the 'Nightmare' and 'Stones 'n' Bones' tables, respectively). The touch and iPhone were too small, the iPad 4 too heavy, but the mine 1st gen is juuuuust right! :) Anyway, thank you again for the video. Excellent stuff!

@@MohamedAli-br1be You didn't mention you have '2,4' model. Yes, indeed, iPad2,4 is not supported by Legacy iOS Kit - but not because iOS 6 is not signed. It is because it is not supported by Legacy iOS Kit method. iPhone 4S and iPad 2 (except iPad2,4) can be downgraded to iOS 6 with Legacy iOS Kit, even though iOS 6 is not signed anymore obviously

Well, not everything I installed before, many games I just sideloaded. You can use Veteris as an on-device App Store alternative or just use computer + 3utools to sideload .ipa files

iPad 4 is the best of course (Retina screen, Lightning, fast processor, no iPad 3 glue issues). However, decent web browsing is NOT possible on 10+ years devices (smartphones, tablets)

Congrats with iOS 6🙂 If you didn't jailbreak during the Coolbooter installation, you can always use one of the available exploits; the easiest way will be to jailbreak using PC programs, such as 3uTools or anything similar

It's not available in any repo anymore, unfortunately. But I extracted files from my iPhone 5, so you can install it manually with iFile. Here it is: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1FuAXuPbcxZwk1_SucwjuI34P5J7fGJ08?usp=sharing

it's "safer" to use the iOS toolkit script as this will do a proper downgrade by formatting the NAND before restoring iOS 8 on it.

Like I noted in the description, unfortunately the plist method is not ver stable. Alternatively, you can try LeetDown to downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 (Mac only) or Legacy iOS Kit (Mac or Linux, Mac is very much recommended)

For every iPad it is different. On iPad 4/3 you can downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 using method in the video, in order to have untethered jailbreak (otherwise Coolbooter won't work). While on iPad 2 it is much better to have real iOS 6, using 3uTools to downgrade for example: www.3u.com/tutorial/articles/4207/downgrade-iphone-4s-ipad-2-to-ios-613-with-3utools

There are methods to actually downgrade iPhone 4 as well, try parrotgeek1/Pluvia You can of course use coolbooter (if you have enough memory), but it is not really as great as real downgrade, so always try to find legit downgrade solutions first

1 - It is not a downgrade 2 - iOS 6 was never available on iPad 7th, it's from 2012 and iPad 7 is from 2019 3 - Coolbooter only supports 32-bit devices

Well, sometimes what I showed for iOS 10 -> 8 part can be unsafe, you can restore from DFU and start again, or choose another method (it's mentioned here, in video description)

This method doesn’t need a PC, it’s on device (except jailbreak, but it can be done on Windows). But here’s the thing, it’s not very stable sometimes and not very “clean” (however, alternative methods, like LeetDown or Legacy iOS Kit do require Mac)

It's impossible, unfortunately. iOS 8 is needed to bypass Apple protection (so iOS 6 can be installed, but not downgraded), otherwise we could simply install iOS 6, but Apple will never allow this to do

There was a glitch which allowed you to bypass that, but it stopped working.. so there's a chance that some ipa's will stay encrypted forever. If app store won't work again on iOS 6. Because that glitch worked on iOS 6 only... ......

@@Tech.213 Sure thing it asks, this way the jailbreak app could be installed on the device. Once it’s installed, you can proceed with next steps. You can always create another Apple ID and use it if you want to protect your privacy

@@mapperofalthistory03 You can't just connect to youtube using old version of its app, it has nothing to do with jailbreak. Some hacks will be needed, or you can watch youtube with Safari just fine. If you're searching for simple ways - don't use iPad 4. Modern youtube works on iOS 11+ only!
