Thanks a lot.
Getting a realistic smooth face truly is a pain. Even at my best I fail to get the skin smooth and the lines can be seen even after I blend at times. But I won't give up.

Woah, first person I'm seeing from Mauritius Island, lol. I appreciate your feedback, it isn't easy explaining art but I'm glad you understand my points well.
Hello Jason, I have just started watching your tutorials which are great, thank you. I have started to use charcoal dust with a brush to blend in as shading which is working really well ( I've had my first realistic eye) You said in this video to use Graphite dust. Could you tell me why graphite and not charcoal? I also guess its prepared in the same way? Thanks again, Just love your tutorials. :)

I always use charcoal powder but some find it hard to control charcoal hence, I advice using graphite powder instead as it is easier to shade with. Seeing as you're already seeing success with charcoal powder, please continue with that. Glad you enjoy the tutorials, by the way.
Hey, please did you make use of a grid on this drawing
Hey Jason thanks for the tutorial s but is there an alternative for the blending brush
@JasonLegendaryArt

when dealing with charcoal, it's hard to find something that blends better than a brush. my advice, try to find a brush. if you really can't find one, use a piece of foam.
I followed your advice in the last vidoe

My own charcoal pencil,are not in grades, it's just "soft meilanzhuju charcoal pencil" But what grade of graghit can you dip your brush into
@JasonLegendaryArt
Жыл бұрын
Any charcoal pencil will work fine for powder
Do you dip the brush, in the same 2B graphite powder, like Grinding some of the 2B graphite pencil
@JasonLegendaryArt
Жыл бұрын
Yeah
I always have a hard time drawing with charcoal over graphite. I wonder if I am using too much graphite, and that’s why my charcoal doesn’t look good…
What if I dipped my brush in charcoal powder, to blend the little eyeback , would it ruin the portrait
Jason, thanks for your tutorial.. One question I want to ask is ; A4 paper good for drawings??
@JasonLegendaryArt
2 жыл бұрын
You mean like printing A4 paper? No. Not at all. Better to use paper made for drawing
Hello Jason, I have been enjoying your tutorials and it's been helpful to me in my drawings but I find it difficult to shade the darkest or black background in my drawings. I have been trying but it has not been appeared in total darkness. Please can you assist with an advice?
@JasonLegendaryArt

I'd say you get a 6B Generals Charcoal Pencil. Or you could get Soft Charcoal Stick/Block. Or a Black Colored Pencil. These will help you achieve deep blacks. But you don't have get %100 darkness. As long as it's dark 'enough'
