Easy way in and out of a corvette

Easy way in and out of a corvette! Having owned a C4 Corvette before, I know how hard it can be to get in and out of one. In a C5 or C6 Corvette, it's much easier, but the technique is the same. Let me show you the easy way to get in and out of a Corvette!

Well done, I have had a C4 for 19 yrs. Getting the information out there benefits everyone.
The salesman told me this when I bought mine....blessings upon us all
Best way is to be in shape

Yes, getting out of my '91 C-4 the way he does is a bit of a strain on ones back and stomach muscles. I put my left leg out first with right hand on steering wheel, makes it easier to step out and pull out your right leg.

@@Halad49 if you keep, bracing your hand on the steering wheel to get out you’re going to find yourself repairing the steering column eventually.

@@dogalmighty1 True enough, but I never use much force on the steering wheel to get out, mostly to get aligned in the door to be able to stand up. You should have seen me when I was first looking to buy my C4 trying to get in and out of it. It must have been hilarious to watch!

EXCELLENT advice! I'm 6' 350. I own a c6. This how I get in & out all because of your video. Only thing I can say is DO Not use the steering wheel as leverage. Over time, it can damage the tilt linkage.
It works every time. Over the decades, I’ve watched Corvette owners strain, moan, huff, getting in and our of their Vette. It’s so straight forward.

This Channel is the Best!!! I've taken all their advice and starting collecting vettes too. I just uploaded a new video with similar content. PLZ watch/subscribe and gimme me some feedback/love ! Thank you !
That works well IF the door is open all the way, if it is not, it’s entirely different and considerably harder.
Great video. I sometimes have lower back issues from twisting. This helps
That's the best way to get in and out of my Corvette especially when I have a back problem and recent knee pain
Exactly how my chiropractor has told me to do in ANY vehicle. Hip / low back issues....
What makes this video so great... is the fun that comes with having a car two feet shorter than an average man 👍.
Thank you! Three spinal surgeries and this is helpful!
Enjoyed your video. One thing I might add. When I get in my c8 I always make sure that I have powered the seat as far back as it will go. I get in the way you do and bring the seat up to the location that is needed to drive. When I get out I power back as far as it will go and turn my legs out the way you do. This gives you the most clearance when getting in and out!

Thank you! Gonna maybe get a C5 this weekend...will try this!
Just got my first corvette. 98 c5. Thanks for the tip!
Very well done, thanks.
thats how you should get in and out of any supercar
Good stuff. I actually lower myself into my C6 by grabbing the windshield pillar while putting my right foot in first and twist and lower down in the seat. I don't even touch the seat until my arse is down in it ... limited twisting.
Great video, thank you for posting 👍🏼

Great video... I'm 58 yrs old and I just bought a mustang and I will definitely use this technique.
Great video!!!!!!!!
your out..its so easy. thnx 4 the demo
Excellent, same thing I do
On my C5, it helps a lot to let the seat automatically return to the rear, and then raise the steering wheel.

I get inside the same as you but to get out I stiff-arm the black corvette logo at the door sill with my left arm and just roll right out
Thank you!!
Thanks for that information.. I was doing it wrong...
Love how there are videos for how to get in and out of a car lol
I also get in and out like this on my 93 I'm young and great shape it's just easier on the body over the years.
Seems like one could use their left hand on the bottom of the door jamb for some support, when going into the sitting position.
I have a C7 it's even harder to get in I wish I could have bought one when I was younger I was in my late 50s when I bought it now I'm in my early 60s I had prostate cancer and a hernia last year I didn't even go though a tank of gas last year it's not easy to get out of either
thank you
just play the song GET THE FUCK OUT MY CORVETTE! 😂
This doesn't work with a C4. The sill is way too high to thread a foot over and into the footwell, esp if you have bigger feet.

I'm 6'-2" with long legs, and it works perfectly for me. Getting out I put my left palm on the door sill for a little extra lift.
Seat bottom still takes a beating from the rotation.
I agree. The C4s weren’t very user friendly to a girl in a skirt and heels, that’s for sure. The C5,6 and 7s are a lot easier.

@@moe4772 6'2", I have a small garage, big car Z06. If I park the car just right I can roll the window all the way down and use the door (or I can use the 3rd door, the hatch back).
@wydopnthrtl

That's my problem too. I pull to the left as far as I can to that people walking by my 04 Z06 won't bump / scratch it. But that only allows for the drivers door to open to the first notch. I carefully grab the a-pillar and lower / raise myself. I'll try this method but I don't think itll work in a small garage. (I have not problems when I can open the door all the way)
My C4 is hard to get out me not to much My wife bless her said forget it oh well.
Try do that in Japan's parking lot on a 2 doors cars 😂😂😂
It is actually a little easier when getting out to put your left leg out first with your right hand on the steering wheel, then stand up and pull out your right leg out. I have a '91 C-4 that is lowered and this way works very slick.
Does anyone use the "palm rest"???
Just watch your head!
Don't touch that steering wheel, that habit will cost you over time...
Ok, but what about tall people like me (1.90m tall) with looong legs... ¿🤔?
Do people actually have trouble getting in a corvette?
@rjd1736

Says the 25 year old.........Yes we do. At 61, I have had 4 corvette's and will have one if I live to be 100. Let me tell you though, you get up to 55 - 60 years old, maybe put on a few extra pounds. It takes a little more to get in and out than it did was when I was 25 - 30 and getting in and out of my C3.
If you have trouble getting out of your corvette it may be time to not have a corvette 😂
I have to laugh at all the complaints from Vette owners about their seats wearing out at the bolster. It's like they don't have common sense. When they get in to a Vette using the traditional entry method, the back and buttocks rub down hard against the seat, so it only makes sense for the leather to wear out! What's even worse is they complain that it's only a Vette issue, when in fact this happens to all cars with leather seats, especially smaller and lower cars. All leather seats will wear out at the door side if people don't know how to get into a car with leather seats.
If none of this works, I recommend just telling someone “GTFO My Corvette”...

The Last reason you buy a corvette is to be practical. We buy them because they are Fun As F*ck To Drive......but they are not for everyone. I'm 61 and it's my daily driver, and I will have one if I live to be 100.............I have had to "Grow Up" for too many other things in life, I refuse to do it for the car i Love.
having to watch you tube to learn how to correctly get in and out of your car is counter intuitive, and ridiculous. I wanted a corvette in 1995, Had $50,000 in cash to do so. I opted to put it in the stock market, its now worth $550,000. I bought a used truck and drove it for 22 years instead. I wonder what that Vette that I wanted is worth today...wait i know $12,000. Keep that goofy car and I retired early too, before 60 yrs old. Cars are not investments, they are liabilities
