Easy “Untraditional” Dirty Rice

Hey y’all! Here’s my take on dirty rice. It’s untraditional yet delicious!
Ingredients
Cooked rice ( I used Jasmine rice)
Ground beef
Trinity (bell pepper, onion, celery)
Minced garlic
Soy sauce
Black pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Parsley
Butter
Love

    Thanks for the quick receipe (dirty rice) I used the left over rice, ground beef and soy sauce which came out delicious, I served it whatever that was in the refrigerator (ribs and cabbage) and I'm impressed with the meal.

    Thank you for this delicious recipe!!! I have friends in L.A. and New Orleans who make a similar dirty rice (you can make different variations depending on what is your cupboard or fam recipe). I make my dirty rice (with what I have, but mostly similar to yours) with pork chops (either breaded or not) and some greens. :) Have a blessed day, Lannie!

    I really appreciate this video. It really made me less intimidated to make dirty rice. I did tweak it some to fit my needs, but it turned out really well, and I'll definitely make it again. I appreciated that you didn't do anything to make it super spicy. I ended up using some cajun blackening seasoning, and it gave me the right amount of warmth and spice it needed w/o being too much for me. I was easily able to adapt the recipe down to basically a two-serving.

    Yes. We also added some Old Bay seasoning which was also yummy. Along with low sodium soy sauce, etc. Because ours was a bit spicey, wrapped one helping into a large soft burrito shell. SO good!

    Try instant rice. After the meat and veggies are cooked and you’re ready to add the rice, add uncooked instant rice and follow the cooking instructions but use chicken broth/stock instead of water. Quick and delicious.

    I don't have celery or bell peppers.. but I have cherry tomatoes and serrano! I will try this same thing but with onions.. very light serrano for heat.. and cherries for sweeetness ! I hope it turns out okay lol.

    When you added the minced garlic, I promise you I believed I could instantly smell it cooking....yum! My son is an extremely picky eater. I am always looking for new recipes that include foods he likes. Since he likes rice I'm going to try this recipe with ground sausage (he won't eat ground beef). I can't wait!

    First off thank you for sharing this. I grew up with this just something the family made but it’s not a known recipe really. Second, for what it’s worth, if you don’t make rice beforehand, you can just add a few cups of beef stock and cook the Rice in the meat yeah it changes the texture but it’s good too. Just another way

    I'm gonna try this. I made the chicken and rice in the cast iron skillet last week. Didn't turn out like yours because I put too much water and my rice was mushy... Wish me luck on my dirty rice!!!

    Omg. Thank u. Every other person had chicken livers ect. Which is fine, but I just have ground beef n just needed a simple recipe. I usually just use the rice as the main meal with veggies. If not fried chicken n veggies

    This was a wonderful addition to my party. I added jerk seasoning to my recipe and top with cheese and by the time it came around for me to eat there wasn't much left. Only 1 spoon full left. They loved it so much I made another pan full. Then I had to get some early. Lol thanks so much.

    You can definitely do it that way. I just prefer to sauté my onions first to develop a little bit of that caramelized flavor.

    Proud Heathen you can probably find that in a traditional dirty rice recipe but I’m not a fan of liver in mine. That’s why I titled it “untraditional” because I make my dirty rice a bit differently.

    Not wrong, but why not add uncooked rice and cook one-pot type of meal? The rice soaks the flavors and one less step. And where is the chicken liver? This is rice an mince

    That’s why I titled my version “untraditional”. I’m not a fan of chicken liver. I added left over cooked rice because it’s a quick and easy way to make dirty rice the way I like it.

    Miss Lannie - I liked the soy sauce in this recipe. I work long shifts in emergency medicine and I like to bring my own food. This cooks up easily and keeps well. Thanks for the easy, no hassle recipe.
