I never comment on videos like this, but I gotta say making this without some stupid ass music and a bunch of "humorous" voice over b.s. makes it the #1 how to video I've ever seen. And I've watched a bunch. To bad it's not the rule by which all similar videos must comply to. I can't thank you enough for taking the time and doing this the right way...

For future reference, that red clip on the connecter is called a secondary lock. You need to slide it over, then push on the tab to remove the connector like normal. That's why you had a difficult time removing it. I'm actually surprised it didn't break when you pulled it off. Chrysler has a red lock on almost every wire harness connection.

I just did this on my 01 Cummins to replace the fuel level sending unit except I used a floor jack and a 2x4 from under the bed then supported the bed with a big block of wood, worked great and fixed my 1/4 tank issue.

Thank you so much. Me and number one son did it today - it took 4 hrs, but we ended up looking for tools and had trouble with the gasket to move that piece into the new pump! You are a lifesaver, but I wished more than once that we'd had your winch! So good to hear the truck run again :)

This is an OUTSTANDING video. I appreciated the comments rather than the talking. It allowed me to pause the video and really get what you were explaining. By not cutting the hole in the bed, I was able to preserve it's integrity. And with an almost full tank (isn't that when crap like this happens?) your solution is perfect! Thank you, sir!

Thank you for the easy to follow instructions on how to change the fuel pump on the Dodge Ram. I have acquired a non running Ram and I'm not getting any fuel to the rails. Lifting just the front of the bed in your video is going to save me so much time accessing the pump and fuel lines. And, I can do it by myself and not need to ask a neighbor to help me take the bes off. 👍 to you sir

Thank you for providing such a simple and fast method to gain access to the fuel pump. There are too many youtube videos showing idiots cutting an access panel in the truck bed floor. They also show cutting the structural reinforcement beams and destroying the bed. Your tilt lift method is quick and the truck bed is not destroyed.

I believe what he's describing is vs tilting the bed front to rear you tilt it side to side. Remove all the bed bolts on the drivers side , loosen all the ones on the passenger side 1/2 way , disconnect the filler tube , and lift the drivers side of the bed.

Katmandu2 Use a tall farm jack on each side. Use old rug scraps to keep the jacks from scratching the paint. Or use a floor jack with a long stick on each side. If you only have one jack, you have to alternate from side to side and use lots of shims.

One to things I liked about this video is the LACK commentary, BS'ing. Great video editing! One of the best I've ever seen ? How did you learn to do this ? Another is your great patience doing the job. I'm very impatient and cussing the whole way through working on cars! Lol! I need to learn patience! Lol!

So as I've been reading some of the other comments I noticed ppl mentioning tilting the bed from the side instead.. is it easier to do a side lift and if so can someone explain the difference with which bolts to remove plz?.. I've also noticed in other videos when ppl have lifted just the frt that the bumper gets tilted should anything else be loosened or unbolted?

I wish I could do it this way but I gotta drop the tank and clean it out. Been sitting for 3yrs with like a 1/8 of a tank. Runs when you hit the tank with a hammer lol

Thanks for sharing. Do you know what size this tank is? The pumps are apparently different for the 2 different size tanks. The 1 I'm working on is the 5.9L I think. Thanks, take care.
