Ohhhh my God, the auto-lock on would drive me nuts where it would be throwing the boomerang or whatever at some shit offscreen to my left RATHER than the boxes that are TWO FEET IN FRONT OF ME.

I was struggling so bad on this. The double triangle trick was a life saver.

Glad u got it! It's definitely tricky at first

Finally did it after like 20+ tries. One thing that helped with the targeting, as clunky as it may be, was "pausing time" with A/X and adjusting the lock on to the middle boxes before going back out and using the shuriken. This was one of the hardest challenges I've ever done in gaming.

Thank you! I too was having difficulty with the auto aim issue, but after watching and reading your tips, double tapping triangle was my saving grace. Finally got it after a few more attempts.

Just want to say thank you once again! I watched 2 of the most popular "trick" videos before this. After 3.5 hours of trying I went to reddit and found your thread with this video and comments. Finished it in one go after that AND now fights seem super easy after learning the windstorm trick, throwing trick, and camera trick lol

2:10 Using Windstorm in this corner makes the challenge super easy. Also, in general (not talking about the spot with this trick), you have to make sure you are throwing your weapon into the 1500pt boxes before using windstorm. Boxes won't usually break otherwise. Let the throwing star spin and do tick damage twice before casting windstorm. It will instantly break these boxes. This also works on the 1500 box near the end, when entering the large final room. (Not showcased in this video, video was mainly uploaded to show that trick at 2:10). By the way, I did this around level 30 with just the ordinary gear. No need to come back geared up or anything. My small damage worked fine with this method. I've also heard playing in 60fps can help destroy some boxes quicker. Good luck! (Check the description of the video for more details)

if the shuriken is on one of the purple boxes when you use windblast (away from you) it destroys them all instantly

@@RYNO796605 yes lol this was one of my first times getting 50,000. It was just uploaded to show the trick at 2:10. I've done it in much less time using all the tips I mentioned in the description and comments. 👍

The one thing that helped me finally get it and with 11s to spare was that a 5 combo of throw, retrieve on the 1500 boxes will destroy them. Saves so much time at points as does making sure you aim properly. So glad to have this hellish trophy

Does Materia affect this challenge? On my game she seems to accumulate ATB so much slower

I missed The 1500 at 1:38 like 25 times and had to look up what I was missing. I kept completing it with 48500 with like 20 seconds left and couldn't realize what I was missing lol

I hope this helps, but I tilt the joystick towards the where next set of boxes are (off camera) before throwing the shuriken!

I equip first strike materia and use triangle + windstorm at first area. It saves my time

The problem for me in the 3d room my shuriken goes to time box near the entrance of room 4 😅

Man this makes me mad. I tried using the triangle trick but the timer pissed me off when I got to like 40000

2:14 This is indeed a bug, you are getting the time from the next room. I finally completed it and it is the key to everything. I'd like to see people do it without blowing up the two boxes behind the wall.

If you still struggle even with the double triangle trick, just abuse of tactical mode, it will be wayyy easier.

Almost got this on my 1st try late last night got 44300 on 1st try gotta keep at it!!! Im gonna get it soon

Took me 4 hours just did it lol with 6 mi. To finish! Had enough to to find a 1500 i missed from the first moving box prior to the 6 seconds

the stack of boxes @2:12 doesn't give me extra time when I destroy them

Gave up on this after like 10+ attempts the auto targeting is so bad makes it total luck

One of the time boxes is behind the orange box in the other room. By using windstorm at that spot, it clips into that room and destroys it, the box it's on top of, and weakening the one at the end. Just did this myself and that spot wasn't the hardest part for me. It was the one 1500 right before the last room with the pole blocking it.

This is really annoying to do. Like they expect you to literally break every single box on a strict time limit? The 1500 boxes wastes more time than the 100 and 200 boxes. They should have Upped the time limit like they did on the basic training limit to 1 minute Make the boxes more easier to break and not taking an eternity to break one (i am more on about the 1500) Have more time boxes at the start. Because there are so many of the 1500 boxes and they take forever to break. It really does not matter if you are using your ATB attacks on them. They just seem to take an eternity to break, consuming more time than you are building it up. Why does the basic training get a good time limit, yet the Solider training is like 30 seconds? Am i missing something? Do i need to upgrade my weapons more and then come back? Im trying everything i can to do it but it feels like, it doesn't work.
