And that's completely fine, but choosing theriotype names or something similar is just off. It's like they are experiencing plurality, but are calling it Therianthropy.

"What is a therian" Therian (th-ear-e-an) Word: Noun THERIAN. A person who identifies as a non-human animal on a psychological or spiritual level based on animalistic urges and/or behaviors. "Can you choose to be a therian/choose your theriotype?" No, like gender and sexuality, it is strictly an identity that you can discover in yourself "Why do therians wear/make gear? And whatis it?" Gear is an object/accessories that many therians use to feel more like their theriotype Some examlpes of gear is: Collars, masks,hair clips, painted rocks, necklaces, art objects of relation. "Is being a therian a mental disorder?" No. It is an identity similar to your gender and sexuality. However, therianthropy can cause depression and anxiety because of species dysphoria. "How do i find out if im a therian/what my theriotype is?" Based on animalistic behaviors/urges. Example: The urge to bite, hunt, or jump. Many therians also experience mental shifts which is an experience in which an individual's mind may be more animalistic. Or phantom shifts, in which you feel like you have the limbs of your theriotype. Also dream shifts where you are your theriotype in your dream. "Do all therians have past lives" No. Past lives is normally from the spiritual therians. "What is species dysphoria?" Species dysphoria, similar to gender dysphoria, is when an individual experiences feelings regarding their species. The individual will tend to look at themselves or their theriotypes and feel a strong want to be their theriotype. Species dysphoria, if severe enough, can cause depression and anxiety. "What is quadrobics?" Quadrobics is a sport in which people run on all fours (hence the word quads), normally to race. Though many therians do this sport as it feels affirming of their identity "Do therians use litter boxes or leashes?" No therians do not use litter boxes. And if you believed the rumor, you are rather naïve, as the rumor stemmed because some schools have litter boxes incase of school shootings, or service animals. Though some therians may wear collars or leads because it feels more affirming of their identity for them "Whats the difference between therians and furries?" Unlike therians, furries do not identify as the animal they dress up as. Furries are merely people who take interest in anthropomorphic animals and wear costumes "What is the difference between psychological therians and spiritual therians?" Spiritual therians tend to believe in past lives, and may use methods such as meditation to connect to their past life. Psychological therians are more mind based, and may have a harder time figuring out their theriotype "Are therians zoophiles?" No. Therians do not use their identity as an excuse to do acts like that. And many therians are against and hate zoophiles "How specific can the identity get?" Very. You can go as far as figuring out exact species, pelt color, skin colour, eye color, if its albino or has some other sort of color variation. But not all therians can figure out all of that, and may only be able to figure out what family they are apart of. TERMS - Fictionkin - and individual who identifies as a fiction shown being, such as a character-specific type such as sonic the hedgehog. Or a fictional species such as an orc or vampire Theriotype - The animal a therian identifies as an animal/species. They may also use gear to help. Gear - objects/accessories that therians use to help affirm their identity Quadrobics - a sport Zoophile - a person who is attracted to animals in an nsfw manner Alterhuamn -a person who identifies as something other than an animal Plantkin - an individual who identifies as a plant Otherhearted - identifying WITH a creature instead of AS a creature. Example dragon-hearted Were - an old term that used to be used to refer to therianthropes, derived drom were-wolves. This term is rarely used. Coping-links - people who choose to identify as an animal or creature to help cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, or day-to-day struggles. It is NOT the same as therianthrope or otherkin Otherkin - identifying as a fictional creature such as a dragon Contherian -a therian whos animal and human side are intertwined and dont experience shifts as they are constantly stable on both sides Polytherian - having more than one theriotype Cladotherian- indentifying as a whole group rather than a specific species. Example: identifying as a bird rather than a crow or magpie Awakening -the process of someone discovering and realizing that they are an alterhuman Anti-someone who is actively against alterhumans, and tend to seek out content created by alterhumans to ridicule and hate on them SHIFTING- A feeling, sensing and/or having a experience that relates to their non-human identity for a long period of time. Not all alterhuamns experience this. Mental shift - when a persons mind changes to be more like their kintypes, and may think and act more like their kintype Astral shifting - experiencing an out of bodyexperience and travels to another world orspiritual plane as their kintype. More often experience as a spiritual type alterhuman Phantom shift - when an alterhumans limbs change to feel more like their kintypes Aura shift- when the auric or energy field around an individual changes to one of theirkin type Sensory shift - when a persons senses change to fit that of their kintype, causing their senses to be duller or stronger Berserker/feral shifting - When an individual loses full control of their body/mind and becomes more like their kintype. Mythical creatures can be both. A theriomythic wanders on the line between therian and otherkin as they are mythical creatures yet still experience things like shifting, having past lives, etc.

My theriotypes and their behaviors 😅! Red panda: Hyper Curious Usually very energized Wolf: noisy vicious usually shifts at night

I have a few theriotypes, but I don’t get shifts for any expect for my red Fox theriotype, rarely my feline theriotypes, and possibly a bird. My non shifting theriotypes r an archaeopteryx (it’s probably a shifting one, but I just awakens with it a few days ago, so I haven’t fully recognized it, border collie/australian shepherd (still questioning which is the right one) and butterfly. Also questioning an aquatic theriotype too (help) and my kintypes are… there are even more of them.

That’s cool! Mine are: -cheetah -dragon -bat -Canadian lynx

Mine: Red fox: playful, feisty, usually foraging or hunting, very vocal. Bobcat:rude, scared easily, loves food. Raccoon:loves peanut butter, usually at the beach looking for shells and stuff. Ocelot: LOVES trees, kind. Eastern coyote: very playful and a bit sassy. Black bat:loves fruit and sleeping. Kind. Deer:calm, curious, loves food, lazy. Ferret:energetic, hyper, and kind. Sea otter: calm, sleepy. Cat(s):vocal(ish)loves hunting.

My observations about my theriotype, black wolf, from shifts. : Very protective, territorial, pretty vocal, playful at times, curious, and loves the outdoors, especially winter. I'll update it [not promised] if I get more information about my theriotype. Also, remind me lol because im forgetful. (-ω-)

Tip:wear socks, crocs, or anything to cover your feet. So when you go outside to do quads wear something that covers your feet so you can prevent bugs from crawling up. Hope this helps ❤

Hey! I don't know anything about therians however I know quite a lot about animals, so this is just a dumb suggestion, but bears actually are plantigrade! They walk on their whole foot just like rabbits, so if it adds any more connection to your theriotype and wont cause spinal issues, maybe try walking on your whole foot rather than your toes :)

My crocodile theriotype is so territorial, yet my dog theriotypes are so goofy yet energetic. Then my cat theriotype is just sleepy most of the time and if not then on high alert

I swear one of my theriotypes is SO jumpy and energetic! So playful too!

I’ve never had a mental shift yet but I’ve gotten phantom shifts at least 3 times and I recently had a tooth shift and destroyed one of my swim caps lolll 😭😭

My theriotypes! Chantilly-Tiffany and gray/brown tabby: calm and pretty lazy, usually laying around or meandering about. Leopard: territorial, loves to scratch up the tree bark (i cant climb trees 😭🤚) Dragon: usually pretty chill but when its happy it loves to run around.

I need your guys help I think I’m a therain cat, here are some reasons: 1 I have always been really connected with cat 2 I have always want to been a cat and one time I caught myself saying” I want to be a cat again “ I was five at the time so I didn’t know what a therain was) 3 I am freakishly good at meowing 4 I found kittens and I can’t stop treating them as my kitten cubs 5. I get these weird phantom shift where I can feel cat ears and tail 6 i shake my head like cat without noticing 7 when I get those phantom shifts I feel cat paws and claws 8 I have always thought they’re was more to life like my life wasn’t complete 9 I love the outdoors 10 I kinda feel trapped in my body 11 cats and other animals love me for some reason 12 when I do quads I feel vey cat like 13 I know how to feel like to run as in the wind as a cat? (Idk how I do I just do) 14 one time when I was in my pool I had the Agrue to do quads ( I didn’t know what they were at the time). I you could help me it would mean a lot to me. Thank for reading

Phantom shifting might be a sign that you are probably a therian❤ I recommend doing research and watching videos, asking therian, and doing meditation to see if you may have a past life❤

How i can tell my theriotypes during shifts Timber wolf: aggressive, only kind to loved ones. Tuxedo cat: playful, friendly, curious, vocal. Iberian lynx: small prey drive, territorial, cautious, little aggressiveness. Fire dragon: protective of gems and shiny stuff, kinda vocal, medium aggressiveness.
