I've built my lure turner 3 different ways using a disco ball motor. I finally settled on magnets that hold hemostat clamps which hold the lures. This allows me to put a lure on the turner or remove one without having to stop the motor. Speaking of the motor, it is still spinning after four years of use. Your base is the same as mine. I used a nail instead of wire as a pin for the spindle to eliminate the "flop" while turning lures. Thanks for the post, I'm always looking for ideas.

@@RobertPodwika one thing to watch out for is, do not let the hemostat "snap" to the magnet due to magnetic pull, while placing it on the turner. An abrupt "click" like that can cause the hemostat to unlatch, open, and drop the lure. Instead of attempting to lay the hemostat "flat" on the magnet, I angle it slightly until it makes contact then gently "roll" it into place. Hope that makes sense. If not, it will the first time it happens to you.

Looks good! if the lure weighs too much for the clips you can always clamp the lip to the wood.
