Congratulations on your creativity and persistance to improove this diy gun project. I watched all your diy powder coating gun videos, it's impressive how you progressed. I see that you have added the resistors and handle ground as I have mentioned in a comment, on your previous gun video. I see that the powder coverage is very good. Now you have all the elements of a professional gun for a fraction of the cost of a commercial one. Keep up the good work!

@trp051 Hi Guzzi Passion. It was your direct contribution that I added the resistors and ground on the handles. Thank you very much! I read your previous comments just about the time I am making this gun. I used 4 x 1 Mohm resistors because that is what I have but make a note in the video to use *4 x 3 Mohm resistors as you previously commented. This will be the last DIY gun that I built because anymore improvements I think will make it impractical to DIY due to additional cost. For instance, some viewers suggest making a 3d printed gun, but that will cost more than buying the readymade gun from China.

@@DIYPhil buying a commercial gun is the easy way out, as I did, but that's not DIY. 3D print is ok, if you have a printer. I like your way, use whatever you can find oround with minimum cost. 👍

How mach power need ignition coil to work plz tell me you have old broad to power but in my country nothing

Yeah right. And it still kind of looks like trash afterwards. Ha ha ha 🤣. But it works. If you have a 3D printer, then you can make something that looks a lot better.

I really became your fan, you are really doing very great. Kindly share the complete circuit diagram with diode polarity direction and coil connections, and the control box circuit diagram. Also make a video about the required air pressure, air flow, powder flow, powder fluidizing

Hi. Thanks for your support. Actually all the information you requested can be found on several of my videos. I encourage you to look at the playlist on my channel regarding powder coating videos. There you can find all the info including the complete circuit diagrams, air connections, powder hopper, etc. I understand the difficulty in obtaining the information because they are not inn 1 video. I basically made these videos as I build up the setup bit by bit. If I'll have some time, I will make a summary of all these information and compare all the different gun setups I made.

Why don't go step ahead and try to build an automated project for both vertical and horizontal powder coating systems

@@DIYPhil and yes, you are some what right, as the videos are uploaded time by time, with different versions, so it's little difficult for someone like me to select the right one to try, so if you just make playlist of the best version, and include circuit schematics and parts list for easy understanding

thanks for you awesome ideas of building this. but i dont understand what are those 3 wires connecting to the transformer in the minute 7:28 ?

Hi. It is a step-up transformer. A low ac voltage supply to the primary winding produce a lot higher voltage at the secondary. 2 of the wires go to the primary winding. The third wire connects to one of the secondary terminal and is used as a current feedback so the power supply can adjust the output during constant current mode. I suggest you watch the 2 earlier videos where I show the power supply circuits in details.

Are you selling the powder coating gun?

Surely powder coats need to be "baked" after being applied to the surface? How long? What temperature? etc?

Hi. Correct, powdered coated pieces need to be cured in an oven. Duration and temperature depend on the powder used. Have a look at this video with my modified kitchen top oven I use for powder coating. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmmEmbGppJDVYrQ.html

Pressure in the range of about 10 psi or less in my experience. It depends on your setup like how long is the powder hose.

I still don't understand between the cascade ground cable and the power supply ground cable. Is the ground cable for the media the ground from the power supply or the ground from the cascade?

Hi. Yes it is absolutely possible. The steel panel I tried to powder coat towards the end of the video is painted with multiple layers of 2-part epoxy paint and yet powder adheres with no problem

@@Tmrblaster88 Hi. So when doing multiple coats, the metal item must still have a good electrical connection to ground. Meaning that there is a part of that item that is still bare metal connected to ground. The ground cable is connected to the house earth ground electrical wiring through the power plug and somewhere there will be a ground rod buried in the ground for that.

Is your powder also home made Phil?

Hi. No it is not a homemade powder, just yet. However, I do use flour instead of paint powder for testing purposes. The flour get the static charge and adhere to the grounded metal piece just like the powder paint.

Mura lang nagastos ko dyan kaya hindi ko na matandaan kung magkano. Tapos yung mismong gun naman eh recycled materials lang. Sa Lazada lang ako bumibili ng mga pyesa.

Nagiisip ako gumawa ng set-up na pwedeng pang benta. Yung mura at abot kayang halaga lang siempre. Sa ngayon kasi yung mga nagawa ko pang prototype pa lang, hindi pa subok na pangmatagalan. Saka yari pa sa mga recycled materials. Balitaan kita kung meron na.
