For people who can't weave fast/haven't done this before, might be smarter to use a 20 volume and leave it to process longer. 40 vol could fry your hair if you leave it on too long.

I'm honestly shocked she not only used 40 on her already-very-light hair, but that she's actually telling people to use 40 at home! I would never use 40 on myself, so dangerous if you don't know *exactly* what you're doing!! (Of course she looks amazing though lol)

I am a designer well versed in colour theory and qualified aromatherapist too, so used to % ratios. I decided to do my research and give this a go in lockdown. I followed your tutorial using Wella blondor followed by the shades EQ 6N, with a root tap but I pulled it through after 10 minutes and washed off at 17 minutes. I am ecstatic with the result, the 6N totally made it, don’t know why I’ve not found you before lockdown! Thank you! The only thing I’d revise personally for me as a newbie t-section highlighter is using a lower developer at the start on side hairline as I am slow getting them in! And the back of crown is really tricky on your own! Thank you again for sharing your videos.

I've been increasing upset in recent years after my colorist passed away at a young age, as well as the "world event" of 2020 that occured... both incidents have resulted in not having the option to get new highlights in my hair. Recently I've considered learning how to do my own and am confident in my ability to do so, and this was such an excellent guide. Thank you so much for providing this as an option and resource for me! Once I reach a point that I wish to proceed, I will undoubtedly be reviewing this again! 😊❤👍

I’m in Cosmetology school. I need to do this. I highlighted my hair myself splitting back in two sections, using the back combing method. It looks great. I did put in a few highlights on top with a face frame. But need more highlights on top and crown area. Going to try! Great video!

I’m sticking to balayage diy techniques due to the curls & massive thickness of my big hair...unfortunately will take a while longer to get the lift I’m seeking without foil. I’m definitely interested to hear how it went for you!

Thanks very much, for taking the time to demo the sectioning/foiling baby lights. Especially the back. Especially appreciated your list of the Redken supplies. Although my hair color natural base is med brown, level 5/6, and quickly shifts to orange, your approach and tutorial will help me work through that. Especially with using a 40 vol developer, I can 'bump' the lights, through that awkward "orange' level, & through to blond-er. Thanks again. I subscribed.

I tried this on licensed in hair myself about 2 years but have not been able to work due to the pandemic and that’s usually how I get my hair done is by someone I work with but I was just getting so bored with my color and needed a guide to even be able to do it on my own head instead of another person I would say this is one of the most helpful videos even for someone who can’t do hair I did it slightly different than her but mine came out so good I was surprised one thing I would say is to not use 40 volume developer at home

I admire her for trying to help and teach us- I just want to say that these girls have a certain humility about them and take for granted the fact that this ability to do this is a gift and a God given talent & calling. They answered the call and have worked to develop the skill but not everyone has this gift. I realized that when I tried to start teaching astrology to beginners. I realized it’s a unique calling and my purpose. I still try to teach it regardless because it matters to me. I just wanted to say this to this content creator because it’s a gift.

I just did this and it turned out great! So very happy. I used 40 volume developer with a smidge of Olaplex 3 and no issues. I ended up processing my babylights for about 40 minutes instead of 25 as I am a level 9/10 in my balyage. Just checked every 10 minutes after 25 minutes passed. For the shadowroot, I added in coming gently down with a regular tooth comb to prevent any harsh lines 🤗

I just wanted to encourage you that you can! Years ago my person moved away but before she left she showed me exactly what product she was using for my hair color. From that day I began to buy these products and apply myself. Now, years later I still do myself and because of my color and process can apply in under 10 minutes. It’s a bit tedious but I put on something on YT that I can listen to for entertainment - the $$ saving is phenomenal and I love that I can control my hair and experiment (carefully) with the color. I hope you’re able to give it a try! Good luck!
