Hi Danielle! I actually followed all the steps for removing DRM in Calibre as you instructed. However, I still get the "This book has DRM" message. Any ideas? Appreciate your help!

Unfortunately, the only wisdom that I can offer is to be sure that the serial number is entered correctly (I copy and paste), and make sure that you're downloading the books to the Kindle that you entered. If it still doesn't work, maybe try uninstalling the whole thing and do a fresh install. I have NO explanation for why that works, but sometimes it does. I think that Calibre can be really touchy, and if it doesn't see everything just right it might not work.

@@fitdaniellereads Sorry if i missed it, but I cannot get this to work with my Fire Tablet. I have read that it doesn't work with Fire Tablets, only Kindles. Any suggestions on this? Thanks.

@@fitdaniellereads I do have the same problem. It works with the AZW3 files, but not the AZW ones. So I tried to convert them to the AZW3 format, but that also is not working.

Finally I was able to convert all the formats, also AZW format. The way to do it is not to convert, but use the import method. Then it works, because then the boks get imported in the AZW3 format.

I've been able to do this for all but the more recent books unfortunately but I'll get around that by reading them on my kindle and now only purchasing books on my Kobo itself

Unfortunately, yes. It goes pretty quickly once you get it set-up, but I haven't found a way to do bulk downloads or conversions.

I was following along until I encountered an error within Calibre's Preference Plugins: zip file is invalid. It does not contain a top level...file. Now what?

If you unzip that file, inside you should find DeDRM_plugin.zip and obok_plugin.zip. Those are the plugins to install.
