Easy Shepherd's Pie Using Instant Mashed Potatoes

This is a super easy shepherd's pie that uses instant mashed potatoes and other convenient ingredients so it can be made easily and quickly.

A few cans of no beans chili, frozen bag of mixed vegetables, few bags of instant mashed potatoes.

Oh yeah that works great too. The one I have is metal though, so I'm always afraid I'll scratch my pan with it. 🤷🏻♀

I think it's similar to a cottage pie? I could be wrong though...I'm way down here in Texas. 🤣

Yep, cottage pie beef. What does a shepherd do? Shepherds, raise sheep, which is where lambs come from, you can only make shepherds pie from ground lamb. If you use ground beef, it’s a cottage pie, very English, and somewhat Irish.
Nice recipe except it is not shepherds pie! It’s a wonderful recipe for cottage pie! Shepherds, pie has lamb. FYI.

Thanks for your comment! Yes, originally it was made with lamb, but here in the states, a lot of our Shepherd's pie recipes have beef. But if you're more comfortable calling it a cottage pie, I'm good with that! I have to say though, I am not a fan of lamb, so this is the only version of Shepherd's pie I'd probably be able to eat. 🤣
