EASY RICE COOKER CAKE RECIPES: How To Bake Box Cake in Rice Cooker | No Oven Cake

You can bake most cakes and bread that use flour as a base, in the rice cooker. If you do not have an oven and have given up on baking? Well, you don't need to. Just use your rice cooker!
BASIC STEPS:
1. Follow the direction to mix your box cake (or any other recipes)
2. Line or grease your pot and pour in your batter
3. Turn on your Rice Cooker and push that COOK button or lever
4. Put on a timer for 30 minutes
5. If it is your first time baking in your rice cooker? Watch your rice cooker to see how long it stays on that "COOK" status. If it stays on for about 5 minutes, then you are good to follow most of my video directions. If it stays on COOK longer, then you may need to shorten your cook cycles, when using my recipes.
6. If you are steaming your cakes using the older rice steamer? Make sure your water level is not too high as you don't want the water boiling on to your cake. Heat the water until boiling before putting the cake in. Line or grease a cake pan or bowl that fits your steamer. Then cover your steamer with strong paper towel, cheese cloth, baking cloth or any clean cotton cloth that can withstand the heat. This will catch the steam condensations from the lid, preventing a soggy cake. I recommend steaming on medium heat for about 30 - 40 minutes then checking your cake. Steam longer, if needed.
7. To check your cake, insert a chopstick, skewer, toothpick or knife into the center. If the stick comes out clean without any wet batter on it, then your cake is done. If not, bake it longer.
8. Allow your cake to cool from 20 minutes to an hour before removing it from the pot or pan. Then turn it upside down onto a plate or board and enjoy!
9. Start baking in your rice cooker by baking a box cake first. Get comfortable baking in your rice cooker before spending money on more expensive ingredients. But don't be afraid to Experiment! And happy baking in your rice cooker!

Hi pang can i ask you a question would like to know whether i can put my cake batter in a seperate pan and put it into the rice cooker pot and bake it coz i want to get a different shape cake will it get baked if i do that

I have tried that but it failed. Because the heat is not strong enough to penatrate to the center of the cake. The batter touching the hot sides and bottom helps it bake. Unless... you water steam it. You can experiment with a smaller cake pan to see if your rice cooker can do it. Here's where I tried to bake cupcakes. No raw eggs or flour so it did not need to cook anything. These are very small silicone cupcake molds. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJWG3LttotHenps.html

Do you have a recipe for baking a pie in a rice cooker? I tried to bake a sweet potato pie. But it came out like an orange mash potato or more like a baby d**d**!😂🤣

😄😅😂🤣 Love your comparison Ehdi! I've tried a few pies and they do tend to be mushy... more pudding than pie. I have been wanting to try a sweet potato pie too.
