After learning how to do body work via fiberglass mat and polyester resin repair, this metal welding repair is so much better and stronger in my opinion. I've done some of this type repairs now and that is my type repairs from now on. Thumbs up!

Nice one Steve - one of the handiest things I ever bought is a small 5kg Sealey anvil - I keep it on the floor right beside where I'm working so I can tweak stuff without having to get up, go walk to the bigger anvil on the bench. walk back, rinse repeat - I can just work fast on the little anvil right at my side. Wherever I'm working on a vehicle, that little anvil is sat close with my fave hammer - a crappo little tacking hammer - sitting at it too. Of all the plethora of hammers in the workshop, that small tacking hammer does 90% of the hammering. Because it has such a small diameter head, it hits real hard if you need it to - and has the "chisel" shaped hitting face on the other side - which is always ideal for kipping in corners & the like.

Precision and patience, qualities that you combine with virtuosity. I admire your desire to bring these vehicles back to life, which have been badly damaged by time and the lack of love for beautiful cars. Thank you for giving us this beautiful craft show.

when you ripped the jacking point off it sent me back 20 years to when i jacked my Rover 216 up and it went straight through the floor. Was totally rotted out, turned into a Flintstones car. Underseal was hiding it all away. Since that car every car i've owned has been cursed with rust

Let me share my opinion, I am restoring my BMW E30, I know how important it is to protect the metal after the welding work, otherwise the result of the repair will be deplorable in the near future. All I see from you is how great you manage to make new body elements and install them, but what I don't see is that in most cases you don't bother to protect the new parts you make and install. Why? After all, the result of such an approach will quickly nullify all the work done. This approach cannot be called a restoration, but rather a hastily completed repair.
