Easy rescue with an important rescue lesson - please read below. 😺❤️

More and more people are doing their best to help animals in trouble, and this video brings an important lesson. In a cat or a dog rescue situation, if there is more than one animal, it is critical to get the harder one FIRST!
In this case, the kittens were safe inside the container the Good Samaritan left for them, so Katie focused on the mom. If the mom hadn't gone into the trap that day, she could have gone back to her kittens, and we could have figured out a new plan.
Sometimes, people rush to get the easy ones (kittens in this case), which stresses the mom who may leave the area, never return, get pregnant again, and the cycle of overpopulation would continue.
The same is true about dogs-in a situation with more than one dog, it's crucial to get the more nervous dog FIRST! If you get the easy dog first, the other dog will be scared to see his friend captured, making the situation into a nightmare! I have heard of too many situations where people rush to get whoever they can (usually the easy dog), resulting in the second dog being left behind - scared, with no protection, and much worse off.
Sometimes, it's best to back off and call for someone experienced.
Luckily, this family got lucky when someone knew to contact @hopeforpaws 😺❤️

I'm glad mom was just nervous and is friendly.
It's about time that someone named them after the cast of Grease.
Give a like 👍 to the easiest rescue for Katie McKittrick and to Sandy and her 4 sweet little kittens 😺🐾. 👇
I am happy that Cat Mom Sandy and her 4 kittens are healthy. It is nice that more people are contacting rescues to save more abandoned animals' lives. ❤

Great that you point out the importance of rescuing more than one animal in the best way to achieve the best outcome. I've followed your brilliant channel from England for a long time ❤❤❤❤❤
Pets are so lively and good acquaint. Watching this reminds me of my pet Ricky ( blessed memory) . Who died because of my lack to care and to be available due to the nature of my then job. I miss you Ricky

@@SilverAuntie I made some edits and fiddled with the scansion a bit and finished it. Had to watch the great Stockard Channing do her thing a few times to get it close. My favorite Grease song. There are worse things I could do Then to take a bath or two. Even though the Hoomans say I’m smelly and so mean, but now I am so clean, But there are worse things I could sing. I could prowl out every night. Yeowll at strays and pick a fight. What I need is a soft pet, Russian Blue just tells me Nyet Mean old man, he throws a shoe, But those are things I’ll never do. I want to have a house so nice. Chase a cat-nipped Mickey Mice. Hear the Friskey’s pull-top plink. Drinking water from the sink. In a dream that might go CLINK. All my siblings need a place. For their whiskered cutie face. But I don’t scratch and I don’t scrap. But I can play and I can nap. In fact the belly is a trap. I need a foster fam or two An adoption from you too. Cheers
Thank you for saving them and give us some knowledge of saving stray animals!
My gosh they are adorable. Thank you for rescuing them!
I just love dark long haired kittens! They look so good!
I am so proud of you all and thankful to be a part of the mission! xoxoo
What cuties. Mom is beautiful.
Kittens are just so precious! The mama enjoys getting all the love too!❤
We always rescue. We just rescued our latest earlier this year. He spent 16 months in our local ASPCA.
I really wish you hadn't cut out so much of the video like after you caught the mom and newborns. You could have showed us a little bit of their development once you got them back to the fostering home but instead you fast forwarded to weeks later depriving us of being able to see how the mother cat reacted to all of that which we needed to see immediately following the capture! 🥺

@@cindym7234 I tend to agree with you Cindy. I noticed that the videos have changed a lot and they're cutting out a lot of what made the videos truly interesting which is not only the capture but what happened right after the capture.

I think the videos are shorter because more people are helping animals they have so many there is only 24 hours in a day don't criticize unless you are willing to go out and help play don't need discouragement they need help every country

Thank you for rescuing these cats! I wish I could have a cat, but I'm allergic. Thank goodness, I'm not allergic to dogs!
So amazing .. you are amazing thank you so much NYC one ❤️ to you my Gs
Good to see this
A shelter/foster care place where I live only allows kittens to be adopted in pairs or more. All places like this including L.A. should be doing this.
Mummy did so good in the bath 🥺
Excellent information! Never thought of that! Will use in practice going forward. Soooo glad more folks are helping to keep them safe & get them help!!! ❤
It's so adorable how much mama & her kittens all look so identical! ❤❤❤

In our case when i had rescued a family of cats i was lucky to get the Mom first, then the three babies who were old enough to eat solid food. The family went to the animal shelter hoping the little one found a good home.

Couldn't agree with HFP more. We have a saying in NM, leave the litter alone. Then if mom does not come back, take the kittens to a shelter or society for animals.
Great advice above!
Love the whole Rydell High gang!
Great save
Before I started watching your videos I never thought it was ok to bathe a cat.
In some cases an experienced rescuer may want to use the kittens to draw mom into the humane trap. I rescued a whole family by putting the screaming babies in a lage plastic bottom rabbit habitat cage in a box, then was able to shut the door after mom went in. She wasn't feral fortunately. I had not seen the mom cat in my neighborhood before. There was food, water and non clumping litter already set up in the habitat. I arranged with a rescue before trapping to take the cats to the vet they use. I put the rabbit cage in the car overnight so they'd be warm and dry and safe from being eaten by raccoons. I had wired close all the habitat doors to prevent mom from busting out. All the kittens settled down. The cats were pretty calm when they arrived at the vet hospital the next day. They were cared for and adopted out by the cat rescue. With the legalization of TNR in my city there are fewer intact cats so fewer litters of kittens outside. 💕🐱🐾
Love the names based on Grease. Happy rescue!
