EASY PERMANENT REPAIR for GM transfer case PUMP RUB,

Still plugging away on the 2002 2500HD. I figured since I had the transfer case out I might as well resolve a known common problem with it. HEre's how to do it yourself at home!

I like that kit better than the "case saver" ones! Seems like a nicer solution to me. Can't go wrong resealing the case and replacing that output shaft bushing too. Just a few less things to worry about when going down the road!

Exactly, this kit definitely gives me more peace of mind and confidence in a permanent solution. Exactly, nothing to worry about now!

I am having trouble confirming the output shaft seal as correct for my 2006 2500HD 4x4 with Duramax 6.6 and allison 6spd auto. The number you list here (Timken 4333N Seal) doesn't come up as correct.

It does have the NP261XHD transfer case

Yeah the NP261XHD uses a different seal, pretty much everything about that transfer case is bigger than the gas versions.

no kidding? I've never seen one wear out with the guard still in place. Seen several fail because the guard fell off or broke.

was it the pump saver not lined up that caused the problem reassembling?

I don't think so, the pump saver seemed to line up fine, it was the shift rod that was the hardest to get lined back up into its hole

I'm taking mine out now, 2005 3500 4x4. How much does it all weigh? I'm guessing about 75 lbs.

@@xXxjoemanxXx I'm not sure, but the bushing just drives in like most bushings, all you need is a solid surface, a hammer, and a bushing drive the right size
