This would be great for all my rubber stamps that have been gathering dust. Also, the rounded corner punch was the first crafting punch I bought over 20 years ago. We had some early card making software. We made lots of cards and rounded the corners. Thanks for the memories. Take good care!❤❤❤

I’ve always loved doing paper embossing. I still have my terra cotta molds from back in the day doing this. I also put it in silicone molds. Toliet paper is the best to use someone asked me once could they use paper towels you can but you can see the texture in them if that’s what someone wants I guess it would be fine.

I didn’t see the link to the envelope video in the description. Maybe I missed it? I also tried to subscribe to your email list and the link in broken. This technique is so cool. The embossed papers don’t look anything like toilet paper when you are done. Definitely adding to my “things to try” list. Thank you for sharing. Love your videos.
love this, have you tried with paper towel?
@OurUpcycledLife

Yes I have and works fine have to use a bit more water spray because it’s thicker
Over the years, I've done this many times. I use a bit of clear embossing ink on the stamp to assist with the "peel". I layer with a piece of t.p. then add a coat of gesso, then add another layer of t.p., gesso, making as many layers as I've got the patience for. I found that the gesso stabilized the papers (i.e. like a light-weight glue) and evened out the colour. Additionally the gesso meant that I could add further colour and medias and provided a stiffening component. The other way to do this is with facial tissue, separated into it's layers. I apologize for not remembering who shared this technique because it was at least 30 years ago. In the old days we called this "faux paper-casting". There used to be terracotta clay moulds that were used for casting papers with cotton pulp and they were very expensive. Being an impatient crafter, I would put my faux paper-cast into the microwave with 20-30 second bursts until the papers were dry. Usually took about 4 to 5 bursts in the microwave. (Yes, in the microwave, right onto the rubber - yikes - lol, bad - don't do this at home unless it's an old stamp you don't adore. It's one of those things that some of us crafters do - get too impatient!!) SO nice to see budget minded crafters. GREAT VIDEO, thanks.

Sounds like a fantastic technique. I might have to try a version of that.
I just ❤ this idea, Do you believe we can use this on glass projects instead of clay and molds seeing how I don’t have neither. Will it stand up to paint? Thanks 😊

Im going to try this. I think I'll roll out onto a sheet of parchment paper so I dont have to move the paper til its dry. I worry about it tearing when wet.

I have a challenge for you. I’m redoing my kitchen to black and white Farmhouse. Bought black and white checkerboard drapes and now I’d like to put up a wooden valance instead of material. I’d like it to look old with some saying on it and a3-4 inch return. It’ll be held with L brackets. Got any ideas on creating this? Looking forward to your ideas.
@DrMaryVision
Жыл бұрын
You could stamp or hand paint onto the wood in a distressed checkerboard to mimic the fabric and then lightly sand or whitewash the wood. A saying will be harder to execute, I’m afraid. Good luck!
😆👍
Can you use decorative napkins?
