Easy Origami Unicorn - How to Fold

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

An easy and realistic origami!
In this video I teach how to make a paper unicorn! I found a similar version on the internet, but modified the method to make it easier to do.
This is not my creation, I'm posting this video to help more people be able to do it. If you are the creator and want me to change something, or even remove the video, comment or send an email. Thank you.
The creator seems to be Yudai Imai
I found the template from this post on instagram pBy2l7pQpN...
Paper used in the video: 2 square sheets pasted of Color Plus paper.

The sign of a good model is that when you make a small one, it isn’t impossible , which is very true here

My thoughts: I like the finished product it's cute. Some or the parts were you have reverse folds are a bit confusing, but if you change the playback speed if you have that option or your device it makes it eaiser to understand. For me at least I would need to watch the video again to make a second one if I wanted to. This is good things for beginers who would like something new. Overall, It is a bit confusing, but is fairly simple to do.

This is a very unique diagram. It doesn't have regular folds and I was really engaged while making the origami. One thing I did in addition to the final product was pleat the horn in two areas so it looked a little more realistic. Great origami!

This is an excellent video. The musical cues when demonstrating a step let me look at my own paper and know when to look back up at the video. That's excellent design for an instructional video. Also, your diction is very clear and at a perfect pace to follow. Thanks for making this!

It got a bit tricky after 9:57 - you can't see the top of the piece, and the descriptor "side corners" is vague. It would be helpful to see the top of the piece, so people can make sure they're orienting everything correctly, and >extremely< helpful if you could stop the video and add little arrows or something to show us which lines/corners you mean.

I did get very lopsided and couldn’t seem to fix the problem once I got to the tail. I don’t know where I went wrong... all my folds are always perfect. I must’ve messed up somewhere . But I did end up having to tape the tail to keep it down because there was extra paper from the lopsidedness . I wouldnt say this was very easy, but it definitely is beautiful and I am happy with the result, can’t wait to show my daughter, she wanted me to make her a unicorn. Thanks again.

Any hints on how to make lines so perfect? We have been trying. Use origami paper. Follow directions to a T, but the corners never seem to line up ones real folds start to happen. The lines .diamonds line up, but beyond the prefolds we end up with shite

  • @EasyOrigamiAndCrafts

    @EasyOrigamiAndCrafts

    3 жыл бұрын

It's normal to have difficulty at the beginning. Try to make the fist folds as accurate as you can. And always reinforce all the creases very well. About the paper size, you can use a small square, but it will probably make it harder to line up.

My daughter wanted to try origami and we have had some fun doing it together. Our thing is, I purchased 6X6 or 15X15 cm paper. Ive noticed most tutorials use larger paper. Could this be why we are unable to make some of these things? Or are we just bad at following directions?

  • @yourmom66600

There are origamis that has detailed, small folds which is really hard to do in smaller paper. But I was able to do this unicorn in 6x6. I think you just didn't fold the creases hard enough for the paper to fold along the creases, atleast that was the only problem I got when I made this unicorn :)

It would be good if you mentioned the original designer at the beginning of the video. It's always a nice touch to honour them *inside* of your video. It's a small thing to do, but it really does make a difference, since often people don't look at the description notes at the bottom. It sets the tone that you are thankful to the person who put so many hours into the process of designing to make this sweet piece. Thanks for the video. It's very clear and helpful.
