    Thanks for the view! Just remember that depending on the size of your rear wheel (width) a rear Dyna tire (or any HD) can be purposely offset to allow for clearance of the belt & pulley. This means there will never be perfect track in track alignment front to back but this is not dog tracking in the sense that the tire is pointed outward while running in a straight line. Not sure if this makes sense to you, aligning the front forks like in the video will make sure your front wheel is straight in line with the center of the bike. Also it is a good idea to lift your front wheel off the ground and spin the wheel in the forks while it is all still together to check the rim is straight/true, I've seen more than one HD cast or spoke rim with a bend in it. Good Luck!

    Nothing you can do based on what I know about that suspension. It's not the compression of the forks that align the yokes though. It's the pressure on the forks from the handlebar to the wheel. Just follow the procedure and the yokes should align. - Thanks for the question, new full motorcycle inspection video out tomorrow!

    There is definitely a problem in your stem bearings or tightness of the steering stem/yokes. Try adjusting the steering stem nut(s) following your shop manual procedure. If that doesn't work remove and replace your steering head bearings kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmafrsuIdpbbqZc.html

    hi, i am the same person, i will tell you what have i done step by step, there was a friend holding the bike, so i tightened the nuts/ bolts one by one, after that i put it on the centerstand then tighten the steering stem again, before that, what i loosened the steering stem on the stand, it was loose, then when i put it down it tighten itself so i had to loosen it again, so could it be that i over tighten it because i tightened it while on centerstand ? also when i done everything, i forced it into turning left, is it was very hard then it loosened up. if it wasn't the overtightened, is it a critical problem that will have effects while riding, or it just won't lock ?@@RodRidesWrenches

    How do you know whether a fork needs alignment? Maybe mine does -- out of the blue the front wheel seemed 'wobbly' at the lowest speeds and yet seemed to do fine when underway above 10 mph. I would just like to know symptoms of fork alignment problem.

    I took off the top steering stem nut completely by accident and the bike started sliding down, catch it but now it’s like 1inch down… how can I compress back to put the nut back?

  • @RodRidesWrenches

    @RodRidesWrenches

    9 ай бұрын

    WOH! Hold On! You took the steering stem nuts off, the ones that are like collars that you need a spanner or special socket to tighten? There should be two! You should unload all the weight from the yokes (tire, forks) and then you will be able to move the yoke back into place so you can tighten the steering stem properly. If this is not possible then you need to make sure your bike is supported and loosen the lower fork clamps, the steering yoke can now be moved back up the forks and into the frame. For this all to have happened you must have the bike on a center stand, so you should be able to pull the bike forward and down to gain the threads you need to tighten the steering stem nut but this is an important procedure for the motorcycle handling and your safety, get a shop manual or find a shop to tighten your steering stem properly. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmafrsuIdpbbqZc.htmlsi=E0SAs3CoeZRk0E9a You have gone this far however so I would suggest removing the front forks and steering yoke and greasing the bearings in there, check your service or owner's manual it is probably due!
